If you have an Interstate distributor nearby (look them up online) you can almost always get a "blem" battery for $35 - $5 core. It doesn't matter with them whether it is a Marine, Deep Cycle, motorcycle/ATV, or just a plain old battery.

I have a bank of deep cycle batteries form there hooked up to my solar panels from Harbor Freight. They seem to hold up pretty well for 5 years now.

If you have it fully charged, like a on a trickle or float charger you can store it for a few years.
I called the distributor here in Houston, they sell for 51.66 and charge 20$ core. This is still a deal for me.

Did you ask for a "Blem"? $51.66 sounds like a regular distributor price.

Thanks for the Reps!

I have 6 batteries in the bank in parallel. A mix of Marine, regular deep cycle, wheel chair and forklift batteries (all are pretty much deep cycle batteries)

I run a 3000 watt peak inverter off them when the power is out, which is enough for short outages. If it is more than few hours, I fire up the generator.

Completely depleted batteries take a while to recharge with the solar panels from Harbor Freight.

I did ask for Blem but I will visit them and may be on phone it didn't pan out well or I will call again. Thanks for reply and being environmentally friendly.

This deal is still on, and coupled with the now 10% Discover Card bonus makes it even better (I think it also counts for the extra 5% back on online purchases through Dec as well). Thanks OP, battery just died twice in the last week and I needed to jump (probably because it got much colder), so this is perfect timing.

As a side note, AutoCraft batteries seem to rate pretty average in Consumer Reports testing. Not great, not bad, just middle of the road. But for $50, it's a steal!

Actually, after the Discover CashBack and the $12 core refund, I think it comes out to $39 installed. That's the cheapest battery I've ever purchased.

I don't need to replace my battery right now ... does anyone know how long I can let the battery sit and install in when my current batter does go? TIA! Thanks OP great deal.
Agree with blueiedgod you can keep it as long as you periodically charge it for a quite a while. But why not take it in and have them run a load test on it. Given that winter is swooshing in & depending on where you are a good load test on a cold battery should give you a good indication of whether you need a new battery for this winter or not. I've had batteries that may have survived another year if I didn't live in WI, but as soon as the temps dropped below 10F or so they just couldn't muster up enough, but they were fine around 30F.

My point I guess I'm trying to get around to is if you don't need it for this winter don't buy it now. You'll lose the better part of your first of three straight up exchange years and while the rebate maybe gone the large $50 & $40 discounts will be around unless I just jinxed it.Wink

FYI - I'd check around to make sure this is a good deal for you. With the $25 rebate, the battery for my car comes out to $63.99. My local Costco has the same battery with the same CCA for $69.99. You dont have to deal with the rebate at Costco and Kirkland batteries come with a 3-year nonprorated warranty.
How long is the Costco warranty just 3 years? Because these are 3 years for a straight up replacement, but you get another 4 years where they will pro-rate the value. If it happened (hopefully won't) but if it fails after that third year and you could apply the pro-rated credit portion to another Internet battery w/ coupon code purchase (IDK if you can) that would really be a SD.bounce

Does anyone know how long it takes for them to approve the rebate?

Was shopping around for a new battery for the winter, and this deal fit the bill! As another poster stated- got mediocre reviews from CR, but for ~$50 you really can't go wrong. And if it sucks- lesson learned!

I don't believe there is any limit, if you use the same card to purchase them it may say code already used but you can always try. If it don't let you simply use a different card to make the purchase and/or check out as a guest.

I just realized you have to additionally mail in the rebate form and original receipt after submitting online. Would have been nice if the OP or wiki had this info, I'm sure a few people will miss out completely on the rebate because of this.

I believe that this rebate can be done online with no mailing in of any forms, just like their normal rebates.

I already filled it out online anyone processing can see the status and it has links to view. One of the links has a form that you submit with the original receipt.

After completing my rebate, I called in and they told me Advanced Auto Parts rebates do not need anything mailed in. They verify based on order number, and the information provided on the receipts.
