I picked up the 900 on the last deal and I'm very disappointed. Wasn't able to start my full size truck when the unit was fully charged and the truck battery wasn't even entirely dead, it just didn't have the power. It has worked for my ATV and I used it as a portable power pack to charge some things during power outage from hurricane Sandy.

My 900 has worked well. Saved me two times already. I have 4 cycl engines. I charged it up in preparation for the Sandy storm in case of black out I would have used the led light on it. I could have charged cell phones with the usb port too. But no black out. I like it.

I have not had a lot of success finding any reviews that tell me whether this is a good jump starter or not. The 900 has 450 cold cranking amps, the 600 has 300 cold cranking amps, which is the minimum needed to have peace of mind.
Cold cranking amps is the key feature, ignore the "peak" amps, means nothing. That is why the CCA is usually buried in the description.
It is a good deal even if you only want portable power, but, shudder, a mail in rebate

Ehh, I have the 600 and it is kinda useless for starting cars. It does allow me to open the trunk on BMW's when the battery is completely dead and there is no key hole, so I can replace the battery.

+1 The 600 unit was unable to jump start a 2-cyl RX-8 with a dead battery.

PEAK makes garbage, as a rule. 300 CCA's isn't even enough to start your 4 cylinder anything if it's cold outside.

Do not buy this. It's a cheap price but what you get isn't worth $1. You are buying a paper weight, don't waste your money. Check the reviews of these on amazon.

It's garbage. These jumpers almost never hold charge

I own this and have used it about 6 times over the past year (bought it from PB last black friday). It starts our Honda Odyssey (6-cyl) with no problem. Our kids often leave one of their overhead lights on and we don't notice until the next day when the battery is dead. Not sure why people have had such problems with it, but it's worked well for us. Just like any other battery, it will only last a few years and lose it's ability to provide the CCA's over time.
