Thread Details

After spending almost an hour this morning going through the paper ads and online ads of seven different grocery/drug stores looking for a deal on Kellogg's PopTarts, I got really frustrated and thought, why don't we have a thread in the DS Forum for deal seeking on a particular item? I know there is a "Help Me Find a Deal" forum on SD but most of those in that forum are looking for tech deals, car deals, phone deals, etc. Besides, most of the DS folks never venture outside of the DS forum anyway.

You should limit your deal-seeking request to grocery/drugstore items only, i.e, milk, cereal, diapers, shampoo, toothpaste, etc. No car batteries, tires, phones, computers, appliances, blah, blah, blah......

Anyhow, if the Mods think this thread is a waste of space, they can just delete it. Big Grin

Well, for anyone who could use more info, the LRWC comparison tool is useful *only* if LRWC considered the price worthy of a deal breakdown ... i.e., a matchup with a coupon, usually. So no deals for any of the things I need.I went ad-by-ad, and found decent prices (most at SR), but had to do the work myself.
There must be some app that aggregates and compares the entire ads of the stores, right? Not just the things worthy of getting pulled out for mention by couponing blogs?

There was something like this available maybe two years ago. Basically it listed and did match ups, if possible, for every item in an ad. You would still have to compare store to store. It still may be active however I found it a PITA to search so I deleted my bookmark about a year and a half ago. Going through page by page of the minutia in each store ad took too long. I found out about it when my then local newspaper (Albany, NY Times Union) hosted couponing classes. I cant recall now if the website was just local, through our newspaper, or if I had to put a zip in and it was run my a media conglomerate that my paper just happened to be a part of. Hopefully I have given you enough information to seek it out if you wish.

Probably not the right thread, but I'm in search of a couple of Nature's Bounty coupons. Since the alphabetical coupon listing on SD is no longer updated, I don't know where to look. The RP insert used to periodically have NB coupons. They are bogo this week at CVS and MIL needs a couple and I can't believe I can't find any coupons for these, just a lousy 2/1 CRT.

Any advice on a good database appreciated! nod

Check the Target chat thread. Someone was talking about a new version of Fyndly for something like checking coupons. Sorry I don't know more, I was skimming fast and have been super busy since I read it.

I'm sometimes successful using flipp app. It has scans of most ads and allows u to search for specific item, then shows pictures from add for this item.
