Thread Details

After spending almost an hour this morning going through the paper ads and online ads of seven different grocery/drug stores looking for a deal on Kellogg's PopTarts, I got really frustrated and thought, why don't we have a thread in the DS Forum for deal seeking on a particular item? I know there is a "Help Me Find a Deal" forum on SD but most of those in that forum are looking for tech deals, car deals, phone deals, etc. Besides, most of the DS folks never venture outside of the DS forum anyway.

You should limit your deal-seeking request to grocery/drugstore items only, i.e, milk, cereal, diapers, shampoo, toothpaste, etc. No car batteries, tires, phones, computers, appliances, blah, blah, blah......

Anyhow, if the Mods think this thread is a waste of space, they can just delete it. Big Grin

It's probably more than most people want to spend on sheets but I just bought a queen-sized set, Damask, 500 thread count at BB&B. I used a 20% off coupon and they were around $50.

They are sooo soft. Cloud9

So I tried Walmart again last night and finally found those burritos! I had thought they were in the freezer section the whole time. but I found them in the deli area. Got 6 of 'em 5 minutes before midnight. Talk about cutting it close. Big Grin

Thanks again. I don't think I would have tried again without your reply.
Happy you found them in time!

At this point, any clearance sheets at the Targets I frequent are for x-long twin (dorm room beds) and cal-king size --- 70%, if you wanted queen or full size sets, you needed to catch the clearance when it was first marked down to 50%

Nate Burkus Queen sheet set (beige)
DPCI 062180740 $43.99, coupon 20% off $54.99 --- purchased 11/4/12 in regular Los Angeles Target store

I combined the IP TQ with 5% red card discount & 5% Target mailer discount (expired 11/4/12) so the price was a little less than $44 --- still expensive but I needed to give a Queen set to a relative that morning...
You are right, our section has the XL Twin and that was about it when I checked. I'll keep looking, I still have time.

Last year (Nov. 10 to be exact) I ordered queen size sheets from Kohls for my mom. They were reg. 79.99 half off $39.99 plus I found a 30% code on SD that made them $28 with free shipping. They were The Big One sheets 275 thread ct.. Good reviews too. I like them because they are deep and don't pop off pillow-top mattresses. You need a Kohl's card of course. They aren't on sale now (well BOGO 50% off but I laugh at that!) but I'm sure they will be soon!

ETA: Unless you want horrible uncomfortable sheets that will make your company leave...Wink
LMAO! My hubby might like that idea, it's family coming. Wink I'll check into Kohls. Thank you!

I agree on treating myself, but I'm looking for a nice cheap set that still feels nice since I'll use them only if extra company comes like Tday. I usually have enough, but I have extra people coming down.

I will keep BB&B in mind. Maybe I'll pop in there this weekend!

I'm always looking for a deal on Iams dry kitten food, any size bag. We just adopted 2 hungry Persian kittens and boy, can they eat!

We have CVS, RA, WAGs, Target, WM, Safeway, Harris Teeter, Giant Food, Petsmart, and Petco.

Thanks! Smilie
Some More Pet Food:

I checked Big Lots and they have Iams Kitten 8lbs for $12. Not really a great price for Iams.

Harmony Farms Cat Food 6lbs for $8. Also saw Harmony Farms Dog Food and Iams Healthy Naturals Dog Food. One of them was 7lbs for $10...can't remember which.

I am always looking for a deal on peanut butter. I'm used to paying less than $1 per jar, so anything above that would probably not be stock-up worthy to me.

I have CVS, RA, Wags, Giant, Safeway, Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Target & Walmart.

Any brand in particular? We're loyal to Jif around here but some folks seem to like the Planters and there are $1/1 peelies out there that expire in 2013.

On a different note, anyone know of a deal on HP ink? Particularly HP 61? Wags does not do refills on these. Annoyed

I've had a lot of luck buying ink cartridges on Amazon. Sometimes they are re-manufactured cartridges and sometimes generic.

I too, am always looking for deals on dog/cat food. I foster animals and right now have 7 cats(including my own). We very seldom get any high value coupons here and I'm always looking for peelies but never find any. I especially need deals on tidy cats litter. I see that Target has a $2 q, what are the rules for target coupons (how many of the like coupon can you use in one transaction)? I could only get 2 to print. TIA

If the MQ or TQ says a smaller quantity then that is followed --- like " limit one coupon per customer per day" but the general rule is limit of FOUR (4) identical coupons per transaction. The internet printed Target coupons found on Target.com all state "Limit one coupon or offer per guest". The Target coupons found in magazines & newspaper coupon inserts usually state "limit four identical coupons per household per day".

Me, I don't do multiple transactions in a single location in a single day but YMMV. But there are enough Targets around that I can visit 3 or 4 without spending much on gas if I use my work commute.

The limit of four identical coupons is PROGRAMMED into the POS --- so that is identical barcodes. You MIGHT be able to use several 0.50/1 Purina treats MQs IF the expiration dates were different etc which would reflect on the barcodes... I haven't yet needed to argue about how identical is "identical".

Do you have any of the three office supply category killer stores near you?
Office Depot, OfficeMax or Staples? They all periodically have specials on HP ink & they also give credit if you recycle the cartridges with them.

I have all three near me but I try to stick with just Office Depot & Staples as they have way more locations.
