This is hilarious. My walmart showed in stock online. I called them to verify the price as it showed they had plenty (7 to be exact) and the guy said they didn't carry it. After some persistance he offered to look in the back. No dice. He then said he'd check with his manager and call me, but never did. So I went ahead and bought it online for instore pickup.
Once I got an email ready notification I called to ask them to scan it and they said $498. I asked them to confirm they scanned and they lied and said they did. Went to the store and when they found it and checked out it AUTOMATICALLY gave me a refund to the $290 price, no asking needed. Freaking customer service these days. lol So yeah, if in doubt, buy online for store pickup (not ship to store as idk if price will auto-adjust) and you'll get charged full price and then refunded partially. |

Just went out to grab some coffee for work and picked one up for 290. I agree with the sentiment on this board. You aren't getting an i5 processor for 290 anywhere else outside of a blowout sale or clearance and you MIGHT get one. For 28 bucks I added the 2 year extra accidental plan which I normally don't do but because of I have home schooled kids that will use this for learning I decided why not. I got out of the store for about 330 with 3 years of coverage and tax.
Not bad. This was the Hammonds Mills Wal-Mart outside of Martinsburg WV. |

Just picked one up in the Olathe, KS area this morning. Online shows a price of 398 but in the store had one of their funny stickers on it that the guy said the price was 348. Asked him to scan it at the register and it showed up at 290 ... he was surprised. Said it was a good deal for an i3 computer ... hope it's like others have said and is really an i5. Thanks ... needed one for the kids! Only saw the one in a cage under the displays.

Picked up two last night at Chamblee Tucker store in Atlanta, GA.
Ive been using it all day, cleaning off bloatware, installing programs, and updating. So far, its holding up well. Not the best or fastest laptop, but well worth it for the price. Thanks! Thumbs up! |

Thanks...I bought one for myself tonight. He had to go in the back to find it. He showed it to another employee and they kept saying what a great deal and that it's a really good computer. The other employee said where did you find it because someone else came in looking for this computer and he told them they didn't have any. My guy said they were on the top shelf in the back. So glad they still had some. Repped the OP....thanks!
THANK-YOU PWCPAL for getting me to 1,000

Just picked one up in Waynesboro VA. They did not have any of them on the floor, but I actually got a really good CSR. He dug around in the back of the store, and managed to come up with one, and did it with a smile. I've NEVER had that happen at Walmart.
I printed out the UPC posted in this thread, and he (the CSR) was pretty happy when he could just scan it to check availability. Sure enough it came up at $290, and I just verified it has the i5 processor. As some earlier folks noted, the box and even the stickers on the hand rest are wrong! Thanks OP, and thanks to the person who posted the UPC. I finally get to retire my old battle cruiser of a laptop. |

Picked up two tonight. First CSR was super lazy and said no more, don't care goto hell. The second fellow was nice. I asked him to look up the sku and it showed two. They werent under displays so he went in the back and dug around. Scanned at 290. Picked up both.
Not the greatest or fastest but good enough for the price and clean looking. Comes up as I5. Thank you OP and person who provided UPC! ![]() |
