No LTE

Get a RAZR MAXX HD for now and get the Motorola Nexus next year around this time with LTE and Android 5.0
Verizon vs unlocked GSM, endless developer support, stock android, and more than serviceable speeds world wide

How is this phone's screen (WXGA IPS) compared to the Galaxy S3's screen? Thanks.

Probably about the same.

Samsung's recent S3 line, as well as the Galaxy nexus has the AMOLED pentile screen, which is eh... images can freeze (you'll see ghost images, like on a plasma), and it can be grainy. IPS is the way to go IMO.

Might as well wait a few more years when they have 5G speeds Wink

What is it today with people posting Engadget news?

Has Hot Deals become the new place to post MSRP deals because I didn't get the memo.
Since this phone beats (except LTE) other overpriced phones...

Either way, good info, and this will likely hit front page when it goes on sale.

I could care less about no LTE, no removable storage, etc.... however....

NON REMOVABLE BATTERY THIS TIME! Frown
I know. I was going to sell my Galaxy Nexus (w/ a spare stock battery) and found out about this. For those who plan on buying those portable chargers and carry these with them and for those who plan on selling their Nexus 4 when the Nexus 5 come out, it probably wouldn't be a deal breaker since the battery will still hold up for the buyer to be interested in. Not sure if these batteries will perform well on it's 2nd/3rd year of life though the Nexus 4 will probably be selling for less than $100 in two year's time.

But having a spare battery (if coupled with an external charger) is sometimes more convenient.

Can a retail price not be a deal? Phones with these specifications normally sell for almost twice as much.

I think the point of Slick Deals is to highlight a DEAL. MSRP means that you don't need SD and you can find that phone anywhere for this price. Hence, not a "deal".

i wonder how much they will charge on shipping. after shipping and tax, we may have to add in about $35 or more.

On the LTE topic:

No LTE is a boon for me. HSPA+ and LTE speeds are pretty similar where I am. LTE may have a bit of an advantage, but why do I need 50mbps vs 30mbps on a phone? LTE is a battery drainer. I'd love to get back to HSPA+ and save some battery life.

no slot? wtf...

TU for no contract deal, but damn Google, throw a brother a bone with the mSD slot (there were rumors that it might have one)...

Yeah, yeah, cloud storage and all that crap. I've got a 32gb mSD slot on my current Android phone and only have about 2gb free. No movies at all. Some music, some pics, about 1gb of installed apps on the SD and backups/ROMs.

Seems like LG should drop the price on their Nexus4 clone...
i understand your frustration but an mSD slot means added costs to the phone thanks to the royalties google will have to pay MicroSoft. I guess its subjective but personally I think it's a very small price to pay...especially when you get 16 gb already...

Come on Sprint get the Nexus 4
problem is that they would try to sell it for over $100 with a contract, so a sucky price
