Awesome OP, I've been wanting to get one of these to use with my other B&D 18V NiCad batteries. I could not care less that this is refurb as long as the price is very low, the battery and chain are new, and the the warranty is the full 2-years. I'm getting an extra for the spare $12 chain, $40 battery, $15 charger, bar, etc and would highly recommend others do too if you'll have a lot of thick limbs you'll be cutting or have other B&D 18V NiCad tools. I'm curious if I could effectively and safely use more than one mid-section extension. Wow 7***9( 3401) bought 30 to likely either relist or sell locally. Smart move. I'm really surprise this isn't FP yet again, it's $5 cheaper this time to boot.

Thanks! I've been looking for this very item but couldn't justify paying the regular price. I've previously purchased 3 B&D refurb outdoor tools and they all looked new.

how big of a branch can you cut with this thing. I have a brach maybe 7 inches thick. Will this do the job or will I need to get a chain saw. Thanks

Unless you're wanting a very clean cut you should be able to cut slightly beyond 6" with extra effort. Safely do so by switching sides before cutting one side halfway through. Of course don't be near under what you're cutting or it will fall on you.

Thanks OP! I've been looking for one of these.

The other post has some good tips on use and maintance. I recall reading somewhere to cut out a 2" wide x 5" long slit on the top of a 5 quart oil or antifreeze jug, fill enough of whatever bar and chain oil you're using, dip the saw blade into it, and seal the slit with the cut out duct taped when storing. It's debatable about using used motor oil, it being harmful to the bar and chain with micro metal shavings and the pollution to your trees and land.
