Back. Arctic Cooling MX-2-1.5 MX-2 Thermal Compound 1.5Gram $.99 f/s

I got this the last time they offered it. Shipping is very slow, it took almost two weeks for me to receive it. A lot longer than the quoted delivery time. But its worth the price.

I had the same long delivery time with an order from Newegg. It has to do with them using that stupid combination of UPS and USPS delivery.

Seriously doubt a 10 deg difference. I smell some exaggeration.
The stock wasn't applied or installed properly. Maybe 2-3 at best, not 10.

First of all, it's not glue.
Second of all, no, they don't use the best, especially when stock coolers don't need anything even close to AS5, MX2/3/4, Noctua NT-H1, or Shin Etsu.

But hey, its only "glue" so surely Elmers would suffice.

Got 5 from the last time they were up. Used it recently. Not that bad.

I'm used to AS-5. The temperatures aren't that bad and it comes relativity close.

Of course, it could depend on whether your talking Celsius or Fahrenheit too. ; ) In this 80-way thermal compound benchmark [benchmarkreviews.com] from a few years back, there was a nearly 5C (over 8F) temperature difference between the best and worst performing compounds. At higher temperatures, such as with overclocked processors, GPUs, or lowered fan speeds, these differences would be even greater. Another thing worth noting is that many thermal compounds break down over time, after being repeatedly heated and cooled by the processor. MX-2 is supposed to last very long though, and not suffer from such issues. And of course, it's certainly possible that stock compound wasn't applied optimally to begin with. If you're going to reseat a heatsink for whatever reason, you'll need to replace the compound, so you'd might as well go with one that performs well, so long as it is reasonably priced.

while stock thermal compound is fine for everyday use, Im sure aftermarket compounds are needed if someone overclocks or reapplying a cooler (stock or aftermarket).

Aftermarkets thermal compounds, on average, ARE better. for example, IC diamond, which uses diamond to conduct heat, on a stock cooler works so much better than the stock compound with the stock cooler.

MX-2 is great as well. Better consistency than IC Diamond, which is thick.

btw, premium gas IS better, but for most cars under average uses, we can barely tell the difference
