I was able to pick one up today at my local staples and they even accepted a 20% off coupon printed from a previous thread. Total came to $101.xx including tax. Thanks!

FWIW I have the Paperwhite 3G and the Keyboard 3G, for me the battery is about the same with the 3G/wifi turned off. The Paperwhite may last a tinge longer but not much, I find I have to plug it in about once a week, which was the same with the Keyboard, perhaps even less. The contrast is MUCH better on the Keyboard and I liked having the buttons. I'm still not 100% in love with the Paperwhite. I use it but I miss the Keyboard and may go back to it. The blacks were MUCH darker and the refresh was better - you see the shadows of the page before on the Paperwhite which annoys the crap out of me. Plus there's the weird LED issue with being able to see the "beams" on the bottom and creates weird bold/light areas in the text.
It's a nice Kindle if you don't have one but I'm not sure I can cheer it like I do the Keyboard. I also like the more storage + audio on the Keyboard. Nice if you can pick it up for $100 ish at Staples though! Just definitely try and see a demo before jumping in! |

Fry's does not currently sell Kindle e-readers. So I'm not sure what you saw at Fry's, but it definitely wasn't the Paperwhite. |
