I agree that with the restrictions, minimal purchase, and tips, the deal is not as attractive as it look. However, you are still likely to save some money if you just make the minimal purchase. One restaurant I went to several times using this voucher typically save us $15 total cost even with the 18% tips (instead of 15% I usually do) on a $50 meal. Or I could also save $10 by coupon at the same restaurant once a while. So it is still a good deal for me. By the way, I only purchase these $25 GC when it is $4 or less. After cash back, I pay $3 or less per $25GC. If it is at $10, it is not worth to get it as I may not save any money when there are other coupon deals available.
lol do you realize they so many times offered this for free? cause they still make money when you use it. the restaurants are already marked up high enough.. well at least you learn something today.
Highest discount I've ever seen is 90%. This one isn't the best but it's better than nothing. Besides ANY discount is SLICK if you use it at a restaurant you're going to eat at anyway. They haven't been as frequent or long-lasting with their discount codes lately, so it's good to see these when they happen.
What's the big deal with tax and tip? If you were paying full price you'd still be paying it. 20% is not uncommon these days and they're usually pretty good at applying that to the pre-tax charges.
I've always objected to these being called "gift certificates" because they are really dollar-off coupons with minimum purchases, but they can really save money if a restaurant you like is on the list. They used to be $2-3 regularly for a $25 coupon, but the discount codes have been rare lately.
personally i love these, it gets me to try restaurants i wouldnt normally try and get a good deal in doing so, as for the tax and tip, you should be paying 20% tip anyways. a discount is a discount, if it is less than anyone else sitting around you in the same restaurant your doing good, so buck up pay the tip you should be paying anyways and enjoy a discounted meal!
I don't get it....When I go out to eat I pay full price plus 18-20% tip and tax....
With these I pay less.....($25 for $4 would be $21 less for those without calculators) or put another way I would pay more without the cert....$25 for $25
Not much to understand here but maybe it is too obvious for some to comprehend ....
I've been using them for 4~5 years, in some occasions it can be a scam, for example once we buy one to use at Reno during a vacation, it was a sushi restaurant ran by middle eastern and with a mexican cook, food was so bad they will NEVER have any repeat customers, so they went with the restaurant.com route just to get people in, with coupon we still paid over $30 after tax and tip for 3 person and we left pissed off, we could've had steak at the casino for maybe $2 more a person
this is the same thing with entertainment coupon book even with their buy one get one free, if the food is bad even all you have to pay is tax and tip it's still not a good deal.
of course I've been to many nice restaurants paying less than $20($25 off $35) when we should be paying $45
the trick here is you need to search yelp for their ratings, this is what I normally do now before buying or using these coupon offers, usually it's when I got lazy and not search then get SCAMED by these shity restaurant I wouldn't even go at free.

I've used these a lot in the past and like them. It seems like the selection in my area is reduced now since many of the restaurants I've used these at are now popular enough or established enough that they no longer feel the need to accept these to drum up business. I've been able to go out with a family of 4 (2 adults / 2 kids) often for $15 to $20 due to these which you can hardly accomplish at a fast food place anymore. I rarely see the 80% off codes anymore that used to be so common.
Just got me a $15.00 one since the restaurant I liked didn't offer $25.00 and I still used the code and got 60% off $6.00 down to $2.40 thank you for deal and yes I was going there anyway to eat saved more than I paid for this coupon.
