Thanks for the codes and repped. Just saved $40 on new front brakes and rotors which I needed to buy.
Just a word of advice (or caution) regarding after-market rotors.
Ensure you compare the weight of your old (factory) rotors with after-market rotors you pick up from any auto-parts store. I have experienced in the past where I purchased the "cheapest" rotors for a standard car (after-all, they're just rotors, right? We're not talking the need for top-quality rotors for a NASCAR stock car race at Bristol!!!).
Those "cheapest" rotors (made in China BTW), needed to be replaced within 6 months (thank-goodness for Advance Auto Parts (AAP) lifetime warranty) due to being warped. When I brought them back to AAP, the counter-rep told me that he highly recommended that I upgrade to some heavier rotors (I just so happened to have still had my old rotors in the garage too - I thought I might get them turned one day). I ignored him (afterall, I'm a SD'er and did not want to pay the extra $15-20 for the upgraded/heavier ones) and just requested replacements of my original purchased rotors, which he did.
When I got home, I compared the weight of the "cheap" rotors with my old ones in the garage...it was like night and day with the weight difference. I thought about what the AAP rep said and drove back down there with my old rotor in hand. I then compared the heavier rotors he wanted me to upgrade w/my old rotors and indeed they were the same weight - or very close...and they definitely weighed more than the "cheap" Chinese made rotors.
I elected to change out/upgrade the cheap rotors for the more heavier ones and AAP only made me pay the difference. Needless to say, I never had a problem with those heavier rotors for the rest of the time I had that car (about another 5-6 years).
I'm looking to replace my front wheel bearings on my 99 Crown Vic and can get a replacement for about $50 per wheel. I'm going to use the coupon code for them and would like to know if anyone has had any issues with these? Says lifetime warranty.
35 off 85 is the best deal going, but code expired on 10/30. I continue to use 40 off110 and 25 off 70 codes
RETMENOT124 10/30 25/70 40/110
ES123 10/30 20/50 30/100
Love AAP online, only thing is I havent figured out how to purchase items that arent in local stores (says call store) yet. Oh well great deals though.
Thanks so much for ES123! Didn't see it anywhere else and bought something for $55 and it took $20 off. Mr. Rebates is 7% CB right now.
Great deal, however I wanted 8 qts of Mobil1 @ 8.99 = 71.92. It said it was only available in-store so I selected my local one. I entered the promo code, which showed the expected text ie 10 off 30, 25 off 70.... However, at checkout (paypal) the $25 off didn't appear on the total - so I didn't do the final comfirmation.
So, does "online only" mean you can't do in-store pickup? Repped anyway.
Not applicable to Oil and Freon, possibly other things, but that's all I have found thusfar.
