Best Buy - Receiver Clearance Yamaha, Marantz, Pioneer up to 50%

If you have a store close by just go to it since the online stock is not accurate. I went to a best buy that had about a dozen listed as available only to find out that they had none in stock at the store and they even told me that they never even sold half that was listed on their web page. I then went to another store that only listed 2 or 3 items on their site but thy actually had about a dozen on clearance. I ended up with a new Denon 2112ci for $320.

Waste of time. Your too late to the game as most of these were gone weeks ago. The online inventory doesn't work. Even if you get to checkout and pay, they'll most likely cancel your order and tell you four days later.

No offense, but i doubt you found any of those. Oh, sure, maybe they were listed on the site, but 95% sure they are actually out of stock. You've found them if you've added them to cart, tried to checkout, check out, and then get the email that's ready to pickup, AND THEN actually pick it up. Personally, I tried EVERY STORE IN OHIO and found next to nothing.


EDIT: I finally found an in-stock $99 Denon in Wooster OH. Got the ready for pickup confirmation email. Next step: calling the store. w00t! And then driving 90 miles each way LOL

Few tips from my recent "quest":

- Focus on stores which have Magnolia department. Regular Best Buy's don't have such good selection.
- Like others said, online inventory is hit-miss, so better check stores. Sometimes you find the items that are not listed online (e.g. I found one shelf unit Marantz PM8004 that wasn't even in the system, they had to actually enter it to be able to sell)
- When in store, check every nook'n'corner of display/showroom section, e.g. inside cabinets under display Plasmas, I saw some good receivers "hiding" there. IMO, display units are best deals.

I ordered three A/V receivers (Marantz 6006, Denon 1712, Yamaha 671), got two pick-up emails- the Denon and Marantz were ready to be picked up. I drove all the way for 45 miles. I showed the lady my order #, she paged the inventory, she said they found the Marantz and Denon. While waiting for the items to be moved to service desk, we started to finish the transaction, she charged the Marantz ($560) and Denon ($200) to my credit card...Waited and waited, the Denon showed up, it is a brand new and have never been opened..The man heads back to inventory to find the Marantz, 10 minutes later, he came back, he had some ear level talks with the lady, the lady said the Marantz is no longer available, he couldn't find it. But it has already charged to my credit card. She then had the General Manager, the GM said they had to wait for a couple hours to process the refund of $560. it is not an easy process! I said you could call me back, when you are done , she said she is likely to call me back in the afternoon.....I am still waiting and wanted to make sure they refunded me...

So that's my today's experience, now testing the Denon receiver. I am happy with Denon as long as I can get the refund for Marantz.

I got a Denon AVR-1712 for $199 so the deal worked as advertised for me.

I picked up an open box Panasonic SC-BTT270 3D Blu-Ray 1000w 5.1 Surround Sound system for $45!!!

Slickest deal I've ever grabbed from Best Buy. There was a brand new system at another Best Buy for $50, but it was far away and I couldn't secure the unit through the online pick up system. I went with this unit because it was closer and wouldn't be a huge loss if they didn't have it.
