Mine has not had the issue in the 3 months I have owned it. I bought screen protectors, but have not used them. This is significant, because I put protectors on everything. The screen is plenty hard, and your finger will not scratch it. I suspect those with broken screens were the result of misuse. If you can get the world believing these screens break just by looking at them, it must be easier to get a free one from owner abuse.

Bought a N7 32GB today for around $263 after taxes. Saw this and figured for $30 I could get more screen. Hopefully I made the right choice in returning my N7. Thanks OP!

thing with asus is that their QC is sorta...well..outright Horrid.

Yeah, I was dissapointed when I was first reading about it so I hadn't actually looked into it recently. Your post convinced me to look into its use on the new Chromebook. I am now really excited for the Nexus 10. It still isn't the perfect tablet, incorporating all of Samsung's, Google's, and Asus's advances in the market. I give it a year before we have a super amazing tablet worth our wait.

oh man i was totally thinking about that all week. imagine asus's padfone 2, with micrsoft's surface keyboard, google's vanilla android, with samsung's smart pen? that would be the ultimate tablet/phone combo, and youd only have to pay data for one!

Re point 1: I did a search of Slickdeals, and didn't see your post on that alleged deal. Can you share your post? If you did not post, how about sharing deals rather than bragging about the deal you got. BTW, what version of Prime did you get. The 201 is not better.

Re point 2: Basis? I recently saw an article saying Asus makes some of the best laptops. Please share your authority that Asus does not make quality tablets. Mine has been rock solid.

This is an awesome deal based on the fact that $350 is about as low as it has gone previously.

I was thinking Samsung's S Pen and digitizer, Google's updated 4.2 with the improved layout of 10" tablets(or newer depending on the release of this beast), Asus's docking station as it is so much more useful than the surface(I do like the surface, but one cannot deny that it is overall inferior to Asus's dock, but it is included instead of an add on), Microsoft's multitasking, whatever the best SOC is at the time of release, and an Ultra high resolution IPS screen. I would love OLED but they are way too expensive at this size right now. The padphone idea is definitely interesting as well and is worth looking into a way to incorporate into this amalgamation.

32GB Nexus 10 is $499, and not $399. This has more memory, micro sd card slot, GPS, etc. I am however going to wait, for the price to fall another $50.
