The TF201 is a better tablet than the TF300 even with it's GPS/WiFi issues. Aluminum unibody shell, Gorilla Glass screen. Super IPS 1280x800 display, 8mp back camera with flash, better battery life, and slightly better cpu and gpu performance. The TF300 was intended as a budget tablet followup to the TF101 line. The TF201 was the first in Asus's Premium tablet line. I agree that this is a good deal on this tablet, but please understand that your post is ill-informed.

Actually, the TF300 (at 21MB/s) is 10x better than the TF201 (at 2MB/s) since the the TF300 has super long range Wifi over the TF201, 499.99 TF700, and iPad 1-3.Wifi Tablet Test [anandtech.com]. Great or Bad Wifi can be a deal breaker for a Wifi-only tablet.

Good looks may not even matter since most folk will use a case to protect the fragile glass screens and stand it up. In terms, of value the 299.99 TF300 is still at the top.

The TF300T definitely has a great antenna in it. My argument is as a whole, it isn't as solid of a package. For many users, the increased wifi range can be a deal maker but for me, I get adequate wifi signal out of my N7 and TF700T that their other features make them a better purchase. The TF201's Wifi was not nearly as bad later in its life cycle as it was for the majority of it.

The TF300 has one of the best Wifi signal over long ranges(80ft) compared to other "premium" metal back tablets.

To improve the speed of the TF300 your need to use a fast SD card to cache the web browser, avoid using widgets, and avoid graphic intensive backgrounds.[newegg.com]

The TF300 isn't as fast as the Nexus 7 & 10, but comes very close(w/ SDcard Mod) in speed and has a better overall value for a 299.99 10 inch tablet.

How can it not be as fast as the N7 when they have the same hardware.
I played with this 300 and it is a nice piece of hardware, but I am starting to agree with folks who say for a tablet.. 10" is too much to make it portable.
I have a laptop at home and this just feels like a thinner lappy.

Both the nex 7 and tf300 have the same tegra 3 chipset t30l 1.3 ghz,but the nex7 has a faster ssd. Asus put slow ssd on the tf100 to tf700 tablets. The 10 inch tablets are only portable if you store them in small backpack/bag or your car.

Playing with both at the store I thought the t300 loaded faster, but that might just be placebo.

So if a person could only afford one.. which would you recommend since you own both.

Nex 7 for very light, 24 7 tablet, portable viewing, car gps, gaming is perfect.

Tf300 for scanning in medical records with 8mp camera. Business doc viewing/editing, multitasking and weak eyesight.

I would choose the nex 7 since its all in one , 24 7 tab, that is blazing fast out of the box.

I had to spend 1 month(20+hours) to tweak the TF300 setting to get out of LagVille.

I feel like gaming would be more enjoyable on a 10 inch tablet than a 7 inch. More-so with a controller. Touch games will be difficult at times I'm sure..but I am intrigued by playing android games on my TV :-)

SEVERAL QUESTIONS,

1 - does anyone have a list of the hierarchy of ASUS tablets. meaning, what the f is 300, 700, tf201, etc... which one is their best? or how is it structured

2 - everytime i clicked on the link, it said product is not available yet. ? WTF. I WANT TO GET ONE

3 - i have been reading tons of reviews and it states ASUS has wifi antenna issues. is there a resolution to this?
