yeah, that was an awesome deal. wish they would do that again! i never cash out because of this... at that time i was lucky enough to have $140 in my acct so i got 7 of those cards.

I don't see the $200 on this page. So, I'm a Freedom user and I get 1% for everything not part of the 5% cash back. For discover, it's only 0.25% until I reach $3k for the year, then 1% after that? Is this for all the cards, or just this one link in particular?

You basically got it. First $3k is a paltry 0.25% and NONE of your quarterly categories count toward the $3k. The upside is that ALL purchases made through shopdiscover.com portal do count, so long as they are not in the quarterly category.

Right now all online shopping has 5% cashback up to $1500 in purchases. Once you exceed this you're back to 0.25 until you buy 3k with the card. This is per year and your year starts the day you become a cardmember and ends a year later.

Could I use Amazon Payments to generate $1,500 in "purchases" and send the money to a family member? Should be free + $200 cashback from Discover.

Wow -- did not know that about Discover. I guess if I end up getting this card, I can always use it in conjunction with different cards -- I'd only use this for the 5% categories, and use other cards that earn waaay more than just 0.25% on everything else. Good info, thanks!

Nope, I've done ctrl+F for "terms and conditions" (nothing was clickable), "$200" (found nothing on the landing page and terms of use. Might be better to just go through the other link.
