Xbox Live Gold Free 1 Month For Silver Members Through Vudu App

Hmm, I ran back through it on another Live account and it does the same thing. States you need gold to continue I selected get gold then selected continue, then it shows learn about gold and selected learn more. Then select gold membership and I selected no thanks and a pop up comes up and says "Not sure? Try gold free for 1 month!" I took photos the second time if I knew how to post them I would.

Just did the same thing, now the problem is turning off auto-renew

maybe i need to use a vudu account not previously linked to my xbox account.
or, a new vudu and a new xbox account.

i'll try uninstall my vudu app and reinstall it again to see if i get the pop-up.

I uninstalled VUDU and downloaded it again and saw the pop-up by following your instructions. Now I'm gold again just in time for Halo 4. Woohoo Thanks! repped

Haha that's why I was trying to get it for free as well. I heard Halo 4 comes with 2-3 weeks gold free so I wanted to make sure I got the free month before I bought the game.

Worked perfectly. Repped.

I had it on an old email addy so was a pain getting into account

Is this tied in with the three free 1-month trials that each Xbox 360 comes with? Because if so, I already used all three of mine a while back.

I had the same issue. You have to say "Get Gold" or whatever it is, then go through the various prompts to "Learn More". When it displays the various pricing options, then you click "No Thanks" and it will ask if you want a free trial.

Make sure you have a valid CC on your account though, else it won't work. I had an expired card that it tried to link the trial to and even though it's free, it wouldn't activate because the card was expired. I had to add a new card and get Xbox support to switch the free trial over to the new card.

Then you can just switch off auto renew and you're all set.
