Discover card Purchase Protection for installed/cut door?

Why would you think the installer is not to blame? Did you ask the store you bought it from or the company that made it about this issue?

Talk to Home Depot first? They probably have a good way they could probably fix if for free (if it is within a certain time).

Before you contact Discover, you need to contact Home Depot. Explain to them the problem, and give them a chance to make it right. If they don't make it right, then you can contact Discover. In your contacts with Discover, keep copies of everything they say and every response that you send them. Stick to the facts, the door was purchased for x amount of dollars from x store and on x date a crack developed. Leave out everything about the cardboard and any personal opinions about the door. Then, tell them what Home Depot's response was. They will want to know what Home Depot said first. Discover will not touch this matter until you have taken it up with Home Depot, who has the right to make good on what happened.

Purchase protection is for cases whether you damage/lose an item or it gets stolen. If there is defects in product, purchase protection will not help.

people on the internet amaze me at times. If you just bought it, and just had it installed then take it back to home depot.

the only way to get a claim is to say your baby dropped it on the floor, or someone stole it.
