Yes and no. Newegg's policy is they will only match if it is not yet delivered. So if its not delivered by 4pm eastern you have a case.

Otherwise its YMMV.

I bought it $49.99 - $15 rebate. If it's $44.99 - $25 rebate at 4pm today, how might it work? Would they price adjust $5 off the original price and let me use the $25 rebate?

Why not ring them up and see if you can refuse the package to cancel the order, then reorder this one.

Frankly I think you're boned on the rebate. Your only real option is to rush home (if you're not already there) and refuse delivery and reorder.

Otherwise newegg will definitely give you the $5 if its not delivered by the time the shellshocker is live. They might do it even if it is delivered, but what every CSR has told me is "we gladly will adjust on a product if it has not yet been delivered." I think this is newegg's way of cutting down on delivery refusal though, not a policy they embrace.

Any idea if there will be FS on this item at 1PM Pacific?

Got off the live chat, the only option they gave me was to refuse delivery and I'll be given a full refund - then to reorder. The wife's at home so I'll let her know. The delivery guys here usually ring the doorbell and run away before you get a chance to see them. Any way to refuse delivery before they get there?

Good cheap CPU fit would be a Sandy Bridge dual core Celeron, such as G530, G540, G550, or G555.

Celeron G550 is $34.99 in store only at Microcenter, limit 1.

The dual cores are 65watts, there are also single core (with hyperthreading lol) 35watts Celerons that would work, the G460 or G465, if you are looking for a cheap low power CPU.

Then there is the Pentium G630T, the best of both worlds (35W and dual core) but it's $75.

Not all i5's, i5's have been made for a few different sockets. But yes, you can use this with an i5 made for the LGA1155 socket, which includes Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge. Here is a list of all the i5's that would work with this board.

To use an Ivy Bridge CPU with this board, you might need to first intall a Sandy Bridge CPU, and then do a BIOS update, to make it compatible with the Ivy Bridge. At least, that is what some folks had to do in the past, not sure if ECS has taken care of it by now.
