Verizon FiOS Valued Customer Discount [YMMV]

I had the triple play in NYC paid only $60 flat including taxes for the first 2 years now they removed my $45 dollar discount x_x

Wow, I never knew dialing 716 in front of a phone number was so difficult. It is always so amusing to hear how people can't deal, or choose not to deal with things so trivial, but can deal with hardship beyond belief when it is brought upon them without choice.

This $20 existing customer discount for 12 months is for real.
Just call up and ask for the existing customer discount you qualify for.
They'll look up your account, tell you you qualify, ask you if you want it added to your account, say yes and you're done.
You can not make any changes to your triple play to degrade the service, like deleting the TV part for example, but you can add features like premium channells, higher speed, etc.
That $20 credit will also lessen your taxes, fees, etc, making it worth more than $20.

I have FIOS digital phone service, but don't have to dial an area code for local calls...

verizon is so tough with getting discount -_-

Buffalo, NY is the 2nd largest city in NY State, after NYC, of course. Hardly a small town. Besides, FiOS is only available outside of the City of Buffalo (except for small pockets on the outskirts, which are technically Buffalo, but people there would never admit to it, ha ha ha), where most of the population is.

We too had FiOS without the need to dial the area code in 2007, but when we re-signed in 2009, we had to dial the area code.

The easiest was to program the home phone with the local area code. It dials it for you when you dial out a number. You just have to train your wife to dial the number "cell phone style" i.e. dial the number, and then press the "send" or green button.

We have a Vtech 4 handset phone system from BJ's. It asks for home area code during the set up.

The older AT&T 4 handset phone did the same.

Trying to get a discount via chat now. I have internet and tv, no phone. My bill has gone up by about $30 over the past year which is kind of annoying. A few bucks extra here for a DVR, another couple of bucks for a digital adapter. Ridiculous

Doing the chat didn't work so I tried calling. I only got a $10 discount for the next year but I'll take it.

I actually called to remove on of my boxes and then mentioned if they noticed any promotions, they said they had a free box promo or a $15/month for a yr, I took the $15/m for 12m.
