For those unaware, The Economist is a conservative-leaning magazine, although they also don't claim to be an unbiased news source. Their general view is one of fiscal conservatism and social liberalism, so if you consider yourself to be on the left, don't think that this is going to be some far-right rag (Heck, they just endorsed Obama over Romney the other day, albeit grudgingly). It's a pretty great magazine which I think should be checked out by anyone on either side of the spectrum; you're likely to find a lot of things you agree with along with exposure to some alternate perspectives.

I get this magazine from a cheap points/frequent flyer deal.

I have no plan to renew it.

I thought it would contain economic news but found to my dismay that it is too often interlaced with liberal editorial.

I am not interested in eating a little crap even in the best of meals.

However, if that is what you like, buy it.

It conservative regarding fiscal issues and is filled with insightful articles about anything going on around the world. I wouldn't call the magazine liberal, unless you don't believe in using science and facts in news articles.

It's realistic and fairly unbiased, save editorials which are moderate (moderate for the developed world, anyway, which is considered "liberal) in the United States.

It accepts things like man-made global warming as fact (because they are fact, according to scientists), so if you're on the extreme right wing fringe you'll consider it liberal.

It depends on what your base line is. To me its center right, which is arguably themainstream. This is not the place to find something radical or ground breaking. What I do find compelling about this magazine is that it does have an extensive network of reporters around the world.
In truth, Harper's and Mother Jones are more my style.
