Interesting that you only view your TV from one angle? what do other people do that have to watch it from the other angles( because you wont watch it from another angle)....Deal with the change in color and brightness that occurs in LED with off angle viewing? If price is not much of an issue...buy a higher end TV...Panasonic( GT or VT) or Samsung( 7000 or 8000) plasma The IR issues you mentioned would not be a factor Last edited by turnne; 11-03-2012 at 12:04 PM.. I bought the 50" version of this tv. Same make/model except for the 10".
GREAT TV. I run Battlefield 3 on it with no lag at all. I had to return my first unit because there was a lint stuck between the plasma color frame and the glass protective frame. I connect it to my PC. No need for a wifi built in or any other stuff. The new unit has no problems since. Retention is there, but run the burn images for 1000+ hours and the wash after every other long watch and no problem. Yeah, a little work but the quality can not be matched. Please refer to post #79 for the optimum settings (lower the brightness by 10 so around ~80 or 81) And post 81 for break images. http://slickdeals.net/f/5315186-L...-s?&page=6 |

This T.V. has never been 700 at costco, It was 799$ plus tax (908$ out the door where we live) at costco for the last month, as you said ended at the end of the month. Got it with the Amex card so a 3rd hassle free(in my experience) year of warranty. All opinions it seems, but facts and professionals advocate and preach Plasma as 100% better than any other picture regardless of myths and IR (which passes and is not burn-in) |

My local costco in San Francisco Bay Area still has this unit on sale for 800 bucks until Dec.

Errr... What other people? you're coming to visit? ![]() I live alone. And even when I have guests over, The room that this TV is in, is set in such a way that there is one couch in front of it. That's it. So no other angles to worry about. Rep unto others as you would have them Rep unto you.

I added an additional three-year warranty to it on top of my AMEX which, I think, gives me ~6 years on it now (1 manufacturer + 1 Costco + 1 AMEX + 3 SquareTrade) for another $50 or so. Love this TV. Slickest Deals:

- I'm really digging this t.v. too... at first the size was overwhelming for us and almost considered taking it back for smaller one... but the smaller ones were between 100 and 300 dollars more.

though I may be odd that I dont sit in the same spot every time when I watch the Samsung LED TV off angle viewing is not an LED's friend...and I have an 8000 series Samsung that I am speaking about...of course there is some flashlighting and screen color uniformity as well The full LED backlit LG I have is in a bedroom armoire and is watched while in bed...its a good thing Its good thing all your guests can view the TV from only one spot... I just seem to appreciate my plasma more all the time you might see the base Samsung plasma...E550...for about $1000 if you hunt Last edited by turnne; 11-03-2012 at 03:58 PM.. But you are right -- I can't fathom trading down in size only to be forced to go up in price. With 30 days for price adjustment and 90 days for return (which is simply another window of price adjustment too), I figure I have Black Friday covered and then some, but I'm not anticipating finding a deal so hot that it would be worth putting this back in the SUV and bringing it down to Costco for a return. |
