All of this 1080i v. 1080p bickering has me confused as to whether this is a must have or not. Would love to get it and watch it with my 4-year old.

Let's see -- when this was being recorded -- that's about when it started using 2000-2002 equipment.

3) For most people if the the 1080i is properly encoded and your equipment is in working order it should be virtually impossible to tell the difference. An optimum 1080i transfer should be virtually indistiguishable from a 1080p convert of the same material since the originals were 1080i to begin with -- does the studio conversion to 1080p do a better jobs interlacing the material than your 1080p output from your Bluray or 1080p conversion inside your TV set since most sets do no natively output a 1080i signal anymore. Of course except for the spec whores whose spout only idea is that 1080p always is superior to 1080 and wouldn't know how to distinguish the 2 on viewing if you tested them -- pretty much like the seagulls in Finding Nemo just repeating the same phrase over and over with no real understanding.
