What does this set lack that the US SE set has? Or maybe a better question would be: is what this set lacks worth the extra money to buy the US SE set?

The 6 disc US SE has about 13 hours of extra material compared to the standard 4 disc set. If this type material is interesting to you I think the SE is the best way to go. If you are marginally interested then go with the cheaper set and it's still good, but will not be the max available entertainment.

There is a 6 disc US set -- the 2011 Special Edition

There is a 5 disc set available from Amazon UK (Region Free Full US compatible) in which the Disc 1-4 are basically identical down to the file sizes plus a 5th Bonus disc that includes 2 episodes (about 110 minutes)
of Attenborough Natural World -- Desert Lions and Snow Leopards (the latter segment is also part of the 2011 Special Edition)

I bought mine for $34 a year ago and it has dropped to less than $30 a couple times and BBY had it available for $20 for about 5 minutes before they sold their stock of 5 copies.
This series is always great for Holiday deals and selling software for those new Bluray players so keep an eye out for deals.

I think I listed what the SE included somewhere in a different thread (I'll see if I can find and import), but yes I think the extra $10-15 is well worth the upgrade IF you an interested in Nature series. If you are a passing fan
and want some pretty background video then get the cheaper set.

4) Great Moments Planet Earth -- 46 minutes
5) Planet Earth: The Future 177 minutes
6) Natural World: Snow Leopards 50 minutes -- probably my favorite episode on the whole disc. NW is a different Attenborough Nature series broadcast on BBC. The episode was included on the Bonus disc of the 2007 UK Planet Earth set.
6) Secrets of the Maya Underworld 50 minutes SD -- I think also from Natural World with a different narrator.
7) Elephant Nomads of the Namib Desert -- 50 minutes HD. Excellent episode again I think from Natural World
8) Frozen Planet Sneak Peak -- about 13 minutes
9) Upgraded audio to 2.0Mbps DTS-HD High Resolution 5.1 (still lossy, but much better quality than the original set). "

I AM an interested viewer of nature series, thanks SO much for your research and your willingness to share it! I will keep an eye out for the SE set (although I wish the Desert Lions episode was included also without having to buy a separate set). Thanks again, and repped!

Anyone's actually ship yet? They sent me a tracking # and it's been noted as Shipped since Monday 11/5, but now Friday 11/9, USPS tracking still says:

"Delivery status information is not available for your item via this web site. A return receipt after mailing may be available through your local Post Office."

Same question.. shoulda known better than to order from them they are advertised on 1saleaday website and seem to have similar shipping problems

Follow-up: I'm showing a status change as of 11/10, that USPS has received tracking information or whatever. So it looks like it very recently shipped or is likely to ship soon.

Hopefully that's the case and it doesn't sit on this new statusvfor too long.

I ordered on the 4th, and received a shipment notice with USPS tracking number on the 6th. But when tracked, nothing showed up until finally "Electronic Shipping Info Received" last night (13th). I'm hoping that they just got overwhelmed temporarily.

Same, no activity for 8 days, but now the tracking shows as out for delivery

I also emailed the company....still no response or tracking info!!!
