Ok well I was in a state of panic before because I had waited until the last day to get Amazon price match and I don't believe I've ever PM anything before but now I truly understand YMMV.
One thing I am familiar with is trying and trying again until I get what at least seems like what I want. Tried a half dozen times to fill out the Price Guarantee form but it didn't work. Not sure what that was or maybe if it was due to it being the last day? I then sent an email (the only other sane choice at 3am, I guess I could have chosen call but it wouldn't have ended up like it did). Email response was something like "oh, how very regretful for you a price has dropped. That happens." Tried the phone call when I woke up on the way to work, it never called me. Not sure if my computer shut off or what happened. Tried the phone call later in the night and the guy told me what I expected "PM Guarantee doesn't cover bundles." But I was prepared and said I had read the fine print numerous times and it said "competitor bundles" nothing about Amazon matching themselves. The guy actually ended up hanging up on me and giving me $1 refund! SLAP! Ok, my cell reception might have been wonky at that moment but he wanted out. Now I was incensed with rage. I placed another call (that actually calls you in 5 minutes) and went to the other end of the building with good reception, just to be sure. I got this great guy who is the only one in his department. He stated to me he didn't see the free Bluray player. I was about to freak but he put me on hold and apparently found it and asked "would you like the player or credit?" Chaching! I messed up by choosing the player, but oh well. He said I needed to order it and he will reimburse my card on Monday when it actually ships. I could hear some woman in the background helping him out too, so it's not some fluke or deranged rep. I thanked him again and said I knew his job was hard and wished him a good night (twas his last call for the week). The funny part is I get home and there is two emails. One the pathetic $1 refund to my card signed by some woman (?? it was a guy) and also how I wouldn't be getting the player at all.. then the other, exactly a half hour later by this guy saying "Did I assist you with everyone?" Hell yeah dude. Hell yeah! So now I'm pretty happy. $100 player and enhanced/white glove makes up for the $152 I would have saved going to Cosco for this exact set. I immediately regret my decision for purchasing this TV through Paul's TV. Supposedly they pride themselves with fast, free shipping. I ordered my TV on the 24th and received a tracking code which hasn't updated past order received. I called the shipping company and they didn't pick up 4 times, the people at Paul's TV had no answer to what the issue was. It was supposed to ship by December 1st. Then I called and they pushed back to the 5th. I asked if the issue was that the TV wasn't in stock, they said no their warehouse has hundreds of them. Then the tracker worked saying it would be here on the 17th!!!! Got a call this morning that their earliest time for a drop off is December 18th now. What a joke, seems like everyone who ordered from Amazon has gotten theirs in at most 2 weeks and this is about to take 26 days. Extremely pissed off, at least I know I'll never be buying from them again.

Just an FYI an Saga Electronics. Supposedly they let go of their website guy due to errors. They say they have no capability to see any online orders or credit card info on the back end. They also said they are done selling the 65ST50.
O well.....at $1625 it was worth a try. |

The TV was coming from Massachusetts and I'm in Pennsylvania. It made it to the distribution center yesterday but they said their earliest available shipment can be made on December 18th. I realize this isn't Paul's TV that is causing this but it is the shipping company they chose to use. Now my TV is sitting 2 hours away for 10 days until they can drop it off here. I may just call and see if I can pick it up myself. It's just frustrating. |
