Figured I'd start a separate thread for the panny plasma's since the HDTV thread seems to be moving more towards a budget HDTV buying guide side and I got tired of reading through a lot of information about westinghouse, proscan and other budget HDTV brands.

I myself am most interested in the GT50 or ST50 models...hoping that the 55 inch GT will go under 1100 or that the 60 inch ST will go below 1000...

One of the verified vendors on Amazon - email and called them about it to verify the condition, their return policy, and the warranty paperwork - just a scuff on the back of the television. It was the only one they had - I just hadn't seen that one that low in some time; had to move fast on it.

i'm about to take panasonic to small claims court.

my tv has bleeding and panasonic sent a tech out two weeks, 3 phone calls, 3 promises to call me back w/in 48hrs, and 2x escalations ago. i'm still waiting for panasonic to get back to me with something. i'd take a denial at this point just so i can move on from dealing with their crap CS.

i've tried calling, email, chat, facebook nada, empty promises and told to call their outsourced call center. they don't have a single point of contact in the US.

Would appericate some advice. I've been watching the 60 and 65 GT's for sometime and have been waiting for the right price. However I'm starting to consider a projector instead like the Epson 3020. Area of use is going to be in my basement that I'm in the process of finishing. Primary use would be tv(sports), movies and some gaming. I'm wrecking my brain trying to make the right choice.

As an alternative to the 55ST50, the 55UT50 is $799 at Costco B&M, or $850 with free delivery from Sears or Best Buy.

Discussion for the $799 Costco 55UT50 deal

FYI on Price changes on Amazon:

- Panasonic VIERA TC-P60GT50 60-Inch 1080p 600Hz Full HD 3D Plasma... has decreased from $1,899.00 to $1,699.99

- Panasonic VIERA TC-P65GT50 65-Inch 1080p 600 Hz Full HD 3D Plasm... has decreased from $2,398.00 to $2,299.99

- Panasonic VIERA TC-P60ST50 60-Inch 1080p 600Hz Full HD 3D Plasma... has decreased from $1,674.95 to $1,649.99

I also stumbled across this review for the ST60, it seems that the ST60 will use the same panel as this years GT50: http://reviews.plasmatvbuyingguid...0st60.html Doesn't say anything about gradation or THX though... so might be a typo

Paul's has the 55GT50 for $1349 - $100 with 'save100' promo code.

Same price as Amazon had it a while back, and no tax and free white glove shipping.

Think I may finally bite.

Does anyone know how these Superbowl deal / end of the model deals work and when they are supposed to happen? I haven't really been seeing many other than the GT50. I am looking for the 60st50 myself.

OK I know this thread has been quite/dead for a while but Panasonic has lowered the EPP prices on two models and added more models to their site with pricing.

Updated: Details and description have been added for the ST60 series TV's on their site. Also the Tech specs confirm that 2 pairs of Dedicated 3D Eyewear are included on the ST60 model. Much better deal than the 2012 models IMHO for the 60"

Added: TC-P65ST60 EPP $2209.99 []
TC-P60ST60 EPP $1614.99 NEW lower price now $1444.99 []
Added: TC-P55ST60 EPP $1274.99 []
TC-P50ST60 EPP $1104.99 (this is a 50" model number but description says 55"... []

S60 details and EPP prices:
TC-P65S60 EPP $1614.99 65" NEW lower price now $1444.99 []
TC-P60S60 EPP $1104.99 60" []
Added: TC-P55S60 EPP $849.99 []
Added: TC-P50S60 EPP $705.49 []
Added, they now have a 42"! TC-P42S60 EPP $620.49 []

Links to some of the other new models I could find, again no details yet:

New Top of the line ZT60 (still no pricing):
TC-P65ZT60 65" []
TC-P60ZT60 60" []

VT60 (still no pricing):
TC-P65VT60 65" []
TC-P60VT60 60" []
TC-P55VT60 55" []

Promised I would update the thread after BB came to calibrate my 60gt50. They were here the other day for about 45 minutes. I don't see a huge difference in the picture. Its a little bit better (i think) I didn't want to pay for calibration outside of BB since Im cheap and the picture looked good to me.

I do have some questions for the technically inclined peeps here...

The picture is brighter... I unlike most don't prefer a bright screen. Is it supposed to be brighter? Or did she just adjust the settings to her picture viewing preference?

She was here 45 minutes,.. doesn't calibration usually take 2 hours or more?

She said I didn't notice the picture quality change much because the picture was so good to begin with. Is she feeding me a line or is that true?

All in all im not mad or anything since it was free and the picture isn't worse

I just got the 60GT50 few weeks ago and now they pricing the new 60ST60 lower than the GT ever been.
I hope I don't regret pulling the trigger on the GT because the specs of the ST60 looks similar or better than the GT50 with all these new features.

BestBuy still has a large inventory of the 65VT's. When will they clear them out and how best to stay on top of said clearance?

Other options to setting up SD Deal Alert and CamelCamelCamel?
