Thread Details

Figured I'd start a separate thread for the panny plasma's since the HDTV thread seems to be moving more towards a budget HDTV buying guide side and I got tired of reading through a lot of information about westinghouse, proscan and other budget HDTV brands.

I myself am most interested in the GT50 or ST50 models...hoping that the 55 inch GT will go under 1100 or that the 60 inch ST will go below 1000...

For those looking for a 55" or 65" VT50, Amazon is offering $500 back in Amazon credit if you order it from them today:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature....l%20Credit

I'm looking for the 65VT50, but not sure if I'm going to bite on this. It's still $3700 right now when sold by Amazon. The 55VT50 is currently $2500 from Amazon.
I show the vt50 at 3187 + 500 promo cash back...

Unless the 500 is already factored into the 14% off making it 3187...

Is this the current best price for the 65st50? The $1950 that is, the rest of that pricing is obviously not specifically relevant to this deal.

I have a perkspot account, but can't seem to get any of the good prices that people here say they see on EPP. I've tried to follow instructions I've found in other thread, but at signup I get an error that the domain on my email accounts is not valid (something like that). If anyone would be kind enough to tell me what I might be doing wrong, by post or PM, whichever appropriate, I would be obliged!
I couldn't log into the EPP thing either but I didn't bother with it anymore since I know Panasonic charges tax anyway. And that's at least a big whopping $160 of tax that I don't have to pay by using PaulsTV instead. Amazon also charges tax now so that wasn't a good deal either.

The $3187.88 prices are not sold by amazon, they are third party merchants which won't qualify you for the credit. The sold and shipped by amazon price to qualify for the $500 is $3699 before the promotional credit: Amazon listing [amazon.com]

Be very careful with this promotion and don't buy from a 3rd party merchant as clearly sated in the terms: 2. To receive your reward, add a qualifying item sold and shipped by Amazon.com to your shopping cart and proceed to checkout.

Now through tomorrow it's $1249 with FS here [alltimetvs.com].

As noted above, Panasonic televisions usually see price drops in winter (February-ish) right before their new models hit the market. It might reach $1000 at that time. But if you wait till then, you won't be enjoying it between now and then, and you risk them running out of stock. So those are the trade-offs.

Last year? Maybe. Never this year. If that is your budget then track the 50". You want a more obscure model.

Fry's has it for $999 some times. Panasonic EPP is $1025 with FS. I'll be trying to get BB to match the EPP price with a print out of the screen grab. That is if a BB in NH ever has one in stock.
