Figured I'd start a separate thread for the panny plasma's since the HDTV thread seems to be moving more towards a budget HDTV buying guide side and I got tired of reading through a lot of information about westinghouse, proscan and other budget HDTV brands.

I myself am most interested in the GT50 or ST50 models...hoping that the 55 inch GT will go under 1100 or that the 60 inch ST will go below 1000...

Note that Panasonic charges tax to most locales but shipping is free.
EastCoastTvs.com only charges tax to NJ residents.

Do your research on all sellers before placing an order.

If you are a Costco member see post 216 in regards to warranty options and differences from square trade.

Any thoughts on why the 55ST50 is OOS on Amazon?

Was it just on some crazy sale?
I'm betting people gave up on sales and just bit when it was at $1150

Think I am going to pull the trigger. This is the best price Amazon has had and with 2% cash back it's even better than the current and former Panasonic EPP price (55GT50) as they include tax.
Bit on the 55GT50 myself.

Jumped on a 55GT50 from Amazon. Discover CB, 1 year extended warranty, and 2% Amazon rewards made this a sweet deal. I also picked up a pair of the Samsung 3D glasses, they are $17 from Amazon and they are supposed to work perfect with the 2012 Panasonics. The regular Panasonic ones are $60ish.

I'll prob just go ahead and jump on the 55ST50 EPP.

Would suck if they had some major price drop come monday...

Can you explain the "1 year extended warranty"? I didn't see it on the page. Did you add a SquareTrade plan or something?

I was hoping that BB online prices would match the new Amazon online prices. Looks like I'll have to stop by a store today to see if they'll price match.
Couldn't get BB to pricematch via the online chat. Just canceled my order and went with Amazon. They said they "might" be able to do it tuesday (after cyber monday), but I don't want to risk the Amazon prices changing by then.

Why are people going through Amazon and not Paul'sTV? I'm just wondering because I'm about to bite on the 50" ST50 and they have quicker shipping, free shipping, and no tax either. Plus they do a 30 day price match guarantee, I guess it's similar to Amazon but is there a certain reason not to go through Paul'sTV??

The EPP price for the 55ut50 has dropped twice this morning - once $40 and then another $30. Might want to double check your EPP prices.
Repped. This gives me some hope. To me it seems ridiculous that the BF prices are higher than recent prices on pretty much all of the models...some of which were even cheaper WHILE they started pushing the wait for BF.

P60U50 for $675, P50UT50 for $625, P55UT50 for $890. All of these were recent EPP prices. They should fall to AT LEAST those levels in my opinion. If you throw in the Blu Ray player for BF, so be it (heck, they were throwing in the Skype camera with the $890 P55UT50 for a while, so even that would be more or less just matching a previous recent sale).

Despite what Panasonic is saying, I'm still thinking waiting a day or two more might be good for two reasons.

1) Midnight Black Friday would seem to indicate tonight, not this morning (ok, ok, this might be wishful thinking).

2) When Panasonic's site contained a countdown timer for the sale, it actually was counting down to 11:59pm Saturday. I'm not sure if anyone else caught this, but it was quite certainly wrong. The timer was later removed.

If Panasonic doesn't want to be viewed as a joke, they are going to need to bring something, anything, to the table. So far, that hasn't happened.

Discover cashback? Where did you find this? I looked under retailers for Amazon and couldn't find them.

The 5% cashback bonus for the quarter is for online retailers. You usually sign up for it at the beginning of the quarter.

Shop Discover also gives another 5% back. It is possible (though a little challenging) to get EPP pricing through Shop Discover (provided you have EPP access in the first place). Go to your EPP load up the page, then go to Shop Discover and select Panasonic's site. If you do it fast enough, the EPP pricing should still be available for a total of 10% cash back on the EPP price.

Amazon has the TC-P55GT50 for $1,349 [amazon.com] plus their 2% promtional rewards and another 3% cash back if you use your Amazon credit card plus their 14 day price guarantee! I finally pulled the trigger. This is the lowest it's ever been on Amazon.
