Figured I'd start a separate thread for the panny plasma's since the HDTV thread seems to be moving more towards a budget HDTV buying guide side and I got tired of reading through a lot of information about westinghouse, proscan and other budget HDTV brands.

I myself am most interested in the GT50 or ST50 models...hoping that the 55 inch GT will go under 1100 or that the 60 inch ST will go below 1000...

Note that Panasonic charges tax to most locales but shipping is free.
EastCoastTvs.com only charges tax to NJ residents.

Do your research on all sellers before placing an order.

If you are a Costco member see post 216 in regards to warranty options and differences from square trade.

So the morons at panasonic epp canceled my order for 55st50 because it was backordered too long. I went to best buy and had them pricematch. My chase freedom is 5% cashback for BB this month so I only lost on an extra 5% from shopdiscover. They also sold me 2 pairs of panasonic glasses half off. Sick tv. Watching it now.
Strange. I ordered mine from EPP Tuesday morning, and it shipped tonight.

Should the heat coming from the TV be of concern? There is a lot of heat coming from both behind and in front of the set after being on just a short period of time. I don't feel a breeze or hear anything to indicate there's a fan built in. ?
Mine produces heat from the front panel but not much from the back, but I dont have it close to the wall. My biggest issue with the heat is my cat wants to sit in front of it cause its warm!

How many days after it shipped did they call you for delivery or how many days after it shipped did it get delivered? I'm curious because I'll probably order mine during an upcoming vacation week but I'll be away the first few days so I don't them trying to deliver while I'm away. Also what state do you live? If you live in a different part of the country than me then the shipping/delivery times may be different. Thanks in advance.

I finally pulled the trigger on EPP at Panasonic for TC-P50ST50 at $899.99 + tax. It's a suprise Xmas present for hubby. He's going to be so surprised. I just want to say Thank you to everyone in here who helped me decide.

No I'm off to find the best warranty and wallmount.

Loving my 65ST50 right now!

The picture quality is amazing after doing some the prep panel and tweaking the settings a bit. Nothing to extreme on the calibration but i'm very impressed and satisfied with this TV.

I thought I had read that Amazon was going to do price matching through the 31st of January, so they wouldn't be dropping prices much. Guess this disproves that theory

I don't think Amazon will be price matching as they never have before. These are the prices the GT series have been since at least Thanksgiving. The 55GT50 is the one that has been fluctuating between $1,349 and $1,499, seemingly every day.

Hey BDeck, what factors is helping you decide on the GT50 vs. say the ST50 or the VT50? Just curious what your thoughts were...

Thanks for all the previous info!

If it's in a corner or against a wall without any airflow I would see if you can find a fan to blow at it, should cool is down a significant amount.
Mines sitting on the stand inside an entertainment center wall unit so it's boxed in on all 4 sides. I put a little fan behind the TV and 2 big fans in front. Now the heat isn't as intense when standing near it but I notice the room is warmer than the other rooms when entering it.

LMAO. Try putting a sweater on the cat. Seriously, my TV is pretty warm to the touch on the back of both sides but not in the center. The front seems to be mostly radiant heat as the screen is warm but not too warm to the touch.
