Figured I'd start a separate thread for the panny plasma's since the HDTV thread seems to be moving more towards a budget HDTV buying guide side and I got tired of reading through a lot of information about westinghouse, proscan and other budget HDTV brands.

I myself am most interested in the GT50 or ST50 models...hoping that the 55 inch GT will go under 1100 or that the 60 inch ST will go below 1000...

Note that Panasonic charges tax to most locales but shipping is free.
EastCoastTvs.com only charges tax to NJ residents.

Do your research on all sellers before placing an order.

If you are a Costco member see post 216 in regards to warranty options and differences from square trade.

LOL, gotta be kidding me... my order of my $1997 65ST50 just shipped today. I've never heard of Saga, but that figures the price would drop the second after I ordered it...

Edit: Amazon price is back up to $2294 [was $2145 a few days ago)... (Just FYI)
Did you order with a credit card that has price protection? Discover, Citi, or PayPal?? Hope so!

i've never heard of it either...and the 65st50 is the only viera model that is selling at a non-MRP price on their site so it could be a price mistake...
Iagree I did not post a thread about it, so I hope at least a few orders will go through. I would have ordered, but I cannot fit a 65" on my wall, even 60" is pushing it laugh out loud

I bit on the 65" ST50 from Saga at $1738 delivered. I am in NJ and had to pay tax, but it seems like shipping is free. I was in the market for the P60st50 for $1200 or so, but it doesn't look like that deal will be coming along anytime soon.

Also will get $400 cash back through the NFL card deal that was posted earlier. $1338 out the door for a p65st50 from an authorized seller....not too shabby.

I will update if I run into any issues. Thanks!
Awesome...let us know if it goes through! Good luck Smilie

yes you have separate THX and normal settings along with 1 custom setting...but for some reason, only the "normal" (non-THX) settings and the custom setting is available when using smart functions (apps)
Thanks. I don't care about apps, won't use them anyway, just don't want to be stuck with only THX.

Found this one. Saga Electronics has the 65ST50 for $1625. Pretty hot deal. They are an authorized Panasonic dealer [panasonic.com].

Anyone gonna bite on this? Might be a price mistake?

I have surprisingly found both the Netflix app and DLNA functionality to be quite nice actually. I haven't tired Amazon Prime yet, but I don't think I'll be hooking up my Roku to this thing. This isn't my gaming TV, so I probably won't hook up a PS3 to it either. Anyway, I just wanted to mention that I am actually enjoying the apps more than I thought I would.

P.S. The Viera remote control iOS app is pretty handy as well. It doesn't gave all 5 star reviews, but I haven't had any issues with it yet.

It's the NFL master card to get the $400 cash back. It does have price protection, but reading through the benefits guide it says that it doesn't cover advertisements on the internet. So it would appear that it wouldn't help me in this case... :/

I tried to price match this on my Paul's TV order ($1949, just delivered yesterday). I got all the way to having a rep waiting on his manager for approval. His manager came back saying he couldn't get the same price when he called, and even if he could, they don't ship out of state.

While waiting for my rep, I tried ordering the cheapest thing I could find on sagaelectronics.com ($25 headphones) in order to check the tax and shipping fees. Turns out the order goes through after entering your CC info, no confirmation page. Didn't receive a confirmation email.

I tried to cancel the order via email, but the email got kicked back. I then called to cancel my order, and I was told their site is supposed to be offline and not taking orders. They said they don't expect my order to go through (even though it shows up on my account on their site), but they'll cancel it if they see it. I didn't think to ask about the TV when I called.

The guy I talked to sounded surprised when I said I ordered something online. The whole thing seems a little shady... what else would you expect from a shop in NJ, right? Wink

The fact that the order went through right after putting credit card info in was a little strange.

According to their website they ship to the lower 48 and send confirmation emails after order processing of 1-48 hours.

I will update you all either way.

"Order ProcessingAfter an order is placed through our website, they are typically processed in 1-48 hours. After the order is processed you will receive an e-mail receipt with shipping and tracking information. National ShippingCurrently, SagaElectronics.com only offers delivery within the 48 contiguous states, and do not ship to APO, FPO, or PO boxes. We hope to expand our shipping radius soon, and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Shipping and Delivery TimesShipping times are based on instock items and your selected shipping method. To estimate the arrival date of your order, add the processing time and the shipping time to calculate the total shipping time in business days to receive your items. If an item is not in-stock, additional delivery time will apply based on the products availability and must be added to the total shipping time. If you live within 15 miles of our Tenafly, NJ store, we have a delivery fleet that provides delivery and professional installation. "

My 55ST50 came in today in perfect condition (via EPP) and I pretty much just took it out of the box, put her on the stand, and started running D-Nice's slides for the past 4 hours or so.

Although I have yet to really do much with the TV, initial impressions are very positive. I wasn't expecting the TV to look so great aesthetically. It is thinner than all of my LCD TVs by a significant margin.

Also noticed it was manufactured in November of this year. Pretty damn spankin' new.

Will probably checkout the copy of Planet Earth blu-ray I just got shortly.

Sage Electronics eh? I don't know, sounds kind of fishy to me. Normally I would look up the vendor on resellerratings.com but nothing came up. $1600+ for 65ST50 seems too good to be true. But if it is real, then it's a great deal!
