Figured I'd start a separate thread for the panny plasma's since the HDTV thread seems to be moving more towards a budget HDTV buying guide side and I got tired of reading through a lot of information about westinghouse, proscan and other budget HDTV brands.

I myself am most interested in the GT50 or ST50 models...hoping that the 55 inch GT will go under 1100 or that the 60 inch ST will go below 1000...

Note that Panasonic charges tax to most locales but shipping is free.
EastCoastTvs.com only charges tax to NJ residents.

Do your research on all sellers before placing an order.

If you are a Costco member see post 216 in regards to warranty options and differences from square trade.

BB offered me the 65vt50 at 2799. They seem to be pretty good w/ PM most online retailers, I didnt even have to ask for that PM he just offered it up. I got the 60gt50 for 1779 at BB because I thought the 65 would be too big...I was wrong looking at the 60" and 65" woulda been fine.. now debating on if its worth $1000 to trade it in.
How did they offered you $2,799 for the 65" VT50 ? That is a big discount. What online retailer you were trying convince BestBuy to match the price to?

Frown I was about to pull the trigger as well. Hopefully the price will return to where it was.
Hope you guys weren't waiting for the 55GT50 to go any lower and were just late to the game, which would stink. Amazon's price at $1,349.00 + 2% rewards promotion + 3% Amazon credit card cash back really was a great deal! Looks like this Adorama deal might be your best bet now. It looks like they are a Panasonic authorized consumer electronics retailer.

I just asked whats the best price and he went to his pc and came back and said 2799 not I think he PM east coast tvs, but when I went back to get my GT50 I had print outs of all the deals I found online and they PM the best one, Id take the adorama price with you and east coast tvs http://www.eastcoasttvs.com/Panas...5vt50.html

So what does everyone think about the pricve difference from the 60gt50 to the 65vt50. Im thinking about upgrading but cant decide if its worth it

How are you getting those prices? If you search those tv's directly on the site the prices are much higher. Do you have to be signed up for their emails?

From what I understand, there is negligible difference between the ST50 and the GT50 but a huge difference stepping up to the VT50. So either go with the ST50 or the VT50.

I got the 55VT50 at BB last night for $1779 out the door. I paid but did not pick up. He said I can come back today to pick up.

Is this good price or should I cancel and wait ?

It's somewhat relative, right? Do you need it today?

When people say "out the door" that normally includes tax. So you're getting it for around $1660 assuming 7% tax rate. Under these assumptions, that's 33% off retail for their flagship model. Price will undoubtedly be lower someday, but do whatever gives you comfort. Ask yourself the question: Am I willing to spend $1779 of my money for the best TV on the market today?

That's a damn good price. Lowest it's ever been on Amazon is $1945 and Panasonic is $2k. I'd say jump on it for $1779 out the door. I would buy it right now if I could get it for that price.
