Figured I'd start a separate thread for the panny plasma's since the HDTV thread seems to be moving more towards a budget HDTV buying guide side and I got tired of reading through a lot of information about westinghouse, proscan and other budget HDTV brands.

I myself am most interested in the GT50 or ST50 models...hoping that the 55 inch GT will go under 1100 or that the 60 inch ST will go below 1000...

Note that Panasonic charges tax to most locales but shipping is free.
EastCoastTvs.com only charges tax to NJ residents.

Do your research on all sellers before placing an order.

If you are a Costco member see post 216 in regards to warranty options and differences from square trade.

GA/FL residents: BrandsMart B&M has the 65VT50 on clearance for $1,999.88. Inventory is obviously tight, so may be YMMV for most. I used the Brandsmart price for price adjustment on my BB purchase ($2,499... that price was also PM'd from Brandsmart). I believe there were a few sets left in some of the GA stores as of 11am this morning.
Is brandsmart in your area? How did you get the PM, a printout? I dont see it online

Does anyone know the current EPP price for the 60gt50?

Yes, BrandsMart was a local B&M deal. It was an unadvertised price, so I had to purchase from BrandsMart and take receipt to BB to get price adjustment. Once complete, just canceled BrandSmart order.

So I've determined that the TC-P55ST50 is the one I wanted, but I will not pull the trigger on this until it dives below $1000 anywhere. Anyone think this could happen during this month or early next month?

Also if someone how the TC-P60ST50 dives below $1,200, I could see myself getting that...

The only reason I want the ST50 is because it handles room brightness/glare better and it's thinner/slimmer.

My other option is the TC-60PU54 for $798 at Sam's Club [samsclub.com]

This perfectly falls into my price range I would still have great picture quality. The problem here is that I I don't want to have to have a completely dim room everytime I watch TV. My apartment isn't too bad for this Plasma and I have full control over the dimness of the lights in the living room, but I just want to be careful and get something that I'll be very happy with.

For me it goes 1) Size 2) Picture Quality 3) Weight/thickness

If anyone can weigh in with there experience with the TC-60PU54, that would be great, otherwise I'm going wait on the ST50 to go on sale and pray that I don't miss a sale...

I can get the Panasonic TC-P55GT30 (2011 model) for $828.99 open box, MSRP was $2200 back in the day, should I jump on this? I care most about picture quality over a smart tv.

http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-pane...68658.html

edit never mind, it was an inventory error although it still shows on their website.

Since were inside the 30 Day window between now and the Super Bowl, would it be a good time to purchase the TC-P65GT50 from best buy, then be able to price match if it gets cheaper. I am pretty much limited to Best Buy, having around $1800 in gift cards too there. Or should I wait a little longer and risk them running out of stock?

the 2013 models don't particularly look like huge upgrades over the current ones, at least not in the way the xT50's are over the xT30's.

YUP ICES starts tomorrow and Keynote speaker is New CEO for Panny. Rumors flying around of a lot of 4K tv's will be shown by lots of companies - so will most likely begin to see the drops in prices by end of month on 50 series.

So is the GT the new ST and the ST the new UT? If that makes sense?

I think it's more along the lines of 2013 ST=2012 ST / 2013 VT=2012 VT / 2013 ZT= New upper end line. I think they got rid of the middle of the road GT tier. All the 3D panels have at least the Infinite Black Pro panel. I think the ZT is geared more towards professional installs/uses.

Also the full press release says that the ST60 will come with two pairs of their active shutter 3D glasses.

You can read the full press release here [panasonic.com]
