I used the interior protectant on the dash of my Lexus for 3 years and it gave me a really good shine with no problems.
The reason to not use this on your dash is grossly outdated. It goes back to the original fomulation from the 70's and 80's which did indeed lead to pre-mature aging, cracking and discoloring of cars interiors.
Armor All pulled the stuff from the market, and came back with an improved formula which no longer results in the issues of the past.
1. The claims Armor All will destroy your tires and dash are a myth started by companies that sell competitive products and their sales people. It is crap. There is no study or evidence this is true. The rumors have been around since Armor All started. Think about it people. If it was true, the company would be being sued to death, their products would not sell, and they they would have repaired it over decades of being in business. I hear this constantly from people that have no clue or trying to sell a different product or service. I buy and use Armor All to spite their dumb arses.
2. These Target deals don't work about 3 out of 4 times, but that one time is most often worth it. Last year someone alerted me here to a clearance on a $200 bike for $53. And I got there and they had this beautiful bike for $53. It is YMMV, but when you do get one, it is great.
Target deals are heart breakers (YMMV). It sucks when u see great deals @ SD, but 99,98% are only available in only 2 Targets around the country, one in LA and another one in Boston. Already happened to me with. "logitech mouse, dyson dc26, etc ++++++ already lost the count". Im losing my faith for target's deals. =( + most of the managers are not deal lovers, they love to shot people down.
been using Armor All on my dash for over 7 years and looks as good a new. This urban legend of it prematurely "cracking" the dash isn't true. The #1 selling car protectant product wouldnt stay #1 if it were known to cause damage. I am not a Armor All fanboy by any means, and use Eagle1/Meguiars/Black Magic products for detailing my car and other cars.
If a person can get this kit for $6, this is an awesome deal and would make a good gift
The 'urban legend' may have started in the '70s when the product first came out and every Datsun 240Z owner used it on their dashes. Of course, every early Z dash was going to crack no matter what was used.
While they are not the best products, it is still a good deal. Really the only thing I am picky about is my wax and interior spray(don't like armor all, not b/c of the BS story about cracking dashes.) The mitt and towel alone are worth $6. The wife and I are about to go to target anyways, I'll look around for it.
Went to my nearest Target, found a guy that looked it up and there were lots in stock but there were none on the floor, they were all in the back & all @ $35ish.
