We're in the process of reviewing the information you provided for your XXXXX NFL Extra Points Visa Card application. -------does this mean declined ? Did anyone got approved instantly?

It doesn't matter if you ask me. If you haven't recently applied to Barclay's you might be approved right away. If it goes to pending you would have to tell them why you need a second card. On the flip side, if they see an uptick in applications, they might shut this down. So it is better to apply sooner than later

I applied for and was instantly approved for the MasterCard. I've never had this card before. I applied again for the Visa a few minutes later but that is pending decision.

How do we know on the initial application page that there would be a credit of $400 or 40,000 points for establishing this new account. I dont see anything mentioned regarding this on the application of the terms and conditions.

Find the "terms and conditions" link on the application page and you'll find the bonus offer of 40,000 points after spending $1000 in 90 days.

Earning Points

Cardmembers earn Extra Points (“Points”) in the Program. Cardmembers earn Points in the following amounts:

(A) Points are awarded based on Net Purchases for each NFL and DirecTV® purchase transaction at a rate of two (2) Points per dollar ($1.00) spent based on the merchant category code. Cardmembers will also earn one (1) Point for every dollar ($1.00) spent on all other Net Purchases on the Account. NFL purchase transactions are Net Purchases made at NFLShop.com, participating NFL team retail and online stores and NFL Team stadiums. DirecTV® purchase transactions are Net Purchases made directly with DirecTV®. Purchases not eligible to receive the 2 Points per dollar ($1.00) are any purchases that do not fall under these qualifying merchant categories. We do not determine whether merchants correctly identify and bill transactions as being made (or not made) at any of these designated categories. Please note that it is possible that some merchant categories may not meet our eligibility criteria. Additional qualifying merchant categories may be added in the future that will qualify for the 2 Points per dollar ($1.00).

(B) Bonus Points - Forty thousand (40,000) Bonus Points will be awarded after at least $1000.00 in Net Purchases (that are not later returned or rescinded) in the first 90 days after account opening. Bonus Points will be posted at the close of your first billing statement after an initial qualifying purchase or balance transfer is made. Balance Transfer Checks do not qualify for bonus points.

There is no limit to the amount of Points that you can earn. Points are not transferable and cannot be transferred or sold. Points post to your monthly statement unless your Account is closed earlier whether by you or by Barclays

This is a great deal. Did this deal the last time it was offered and received everything and then some. I want to go for the Mastercard, however it is to soon and I doubt I will get the bonus.
