Need to buy Mazda CX-9, 2012, New
I am in the market for a new Maxda CX9. Been a long time since I bought a car and kind of lost the touch in making good deals. Could not think of anywhere else other than my favorite site. Could someone walk me through where can i find or how can i bargain for a good AWD Sports model. Rest all features are optional apart from what comes with the car. By the way I am in Harrisburg, PA (17055) |

email, email, email!!! I bought my 2011 Honda CRV (back in Nov 2010) via email!! At that time I lived in VA (near DC) I sent close to 20 emails out to Honda dealerships in VA, MD and DC!! I told them exactly what I wanted and I wanted their out the door price (The amount I would write a check for) I of course included my name and phone # but I made it clear NOT to phone me AND that I expected to purchases within the week!!
There are many CRV forums and I'm sure if you google Mazda CX9 forums--you will find plenty!! In many of these forums, people will post what they paid! As well there is truecars.com So with that info it gave me an idea on what I should expect to pay!! Out of those 20 emails I got back, some just said they would match my best price. The top 5--I called--just to ensure they knew I was a real buyer. But I did not negotiate on the phone. When I thought I was close with 1 dealer--My wife and I went in. I had a price in my mind. But they would not meet it--so we walked!! Ended up getting it even cheaper. Had 1 dealer that was in the top 5--say the price I was quoted by another dealer a Lie, whatever, lol This was the easiest and most STRESS-FREE car purchase I have ever made. When ur at home--your at your comfort place!! When I went to that 1 dealer--I felt just like giving in and pay what they wanted!! I highly recommend going the email route and be willing to travel a bit. A few hour drive can lead to substantial savings!! Don't belive the salesman that say, they all sell for nearly the same price, not true at all. Its the people that don't do any research that pay way too much!! Highly recommend you check out CX9 forums and truecars.com to find out what others paid. Supposedly truecars.com gets their info from banks and insurance companies. I did slightly better that what they stated what was the lowest price. Best of luck |

http://wot.motortrend.com/video-f...77195.html I'm personally in the market for the Mazda CX-5 , but am waiting until next year when they release the 2.5L engine (or Diesel Mill if I'm lucky) for this badboy. Last edited by xwedge; 11-08-2012 at 12:55 PM.. |

My wife works for the owner of an auto advertiser. He has owned the business a long time and is a huge car guy. He said the only reason to be on a car lot is to test drive and pick up your new car. Once you know what you want, call in. All negotiations will be via phone. If you don't like what the guy on the phone is saying, hang up and call back another time.
We are actually just waiting for our new CX-5 to arrive from the port and we will pick it up. Only time we set foot on the lot was when we test drove. We should be picking it up in a few days. Good luck. |

I just got a heckuva deal on a 2012 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring!
I just got my mom an amazing deal on a new 2012 CX-9 Grand Touring! It has the Moonroof & Bose Package and the Power Liftgate option with a sticker price of $37,385. She paid $29,707 (including the dealer's $499 Doc Fee) plus taxe . tag and title. With 6% Georgia Sales Tax and $66 Tag/Title fees, the final drive out price was $31,135! They were willing to match the Carmax offer on her 2007 Explorer Eddie Bauer, which was more than we expected. It had 140k miles on it and KBB.com gave a trade-in value of $7,206 and we got $7,500 for it. In Georgia, trading it on the new vehicle also saved $450 in Sales Tax, making it more like $7,950. She was also a 'cash buyer' so there was no financing to mark up for profit. So they really didn't discount the new car only to make it up by stealing the trade or marking up financing and extended warranties! We got a great deal and Mazda is likely to beef up their Marketing Support $$$ even more in December, so even better deals are possible! Dealer inventory for the 2012s is still pretty heavy, so great deals are almost a certainty thru the end of the year....and probably beyond. |

Congrats- that is a GREAT deal IMHO. Over 20% off retail. |

Great advice guys, I'm in the market for CX-9 as well for the wife. I've been emailing/calling a few places. We got one offer we like so far, but I've been sending out request for quotes and getting some responses back.
Tomorrow we will be going to test drive a Certified CX-9 Touring with 23k miles. They listed the price $24,900 and a manager called back to say they could do $23,500. I told them, we'd check it out for a test drive, but couldn't promise more. I know I can hold my own, but I think my wife might cave in fast. We are approved for 4.5% by our credit union, but that rate doesn't seem so great. I know about PenFed after reading up online, but I don't know that I want to do that route. I am in Texas FYI. |

I sent you a PM with some info re: buying a remaining NEW 2012 CX-9, etc. I hope it will be useful to you. Just in case you didn't know, the vast majority of 2012 (and 2011) Mazda Certified CX-9s are from Rental Fleets. That may or may not matter to you, but I just wanted to mention it. Mazda provides a free AutoCheck History Report for every CPO vehicle (look for the link on the ad page for each car) and it will tell you if it was a former Rental. It will also show if it was a Lease Return (the ideal CPO 'cream puff') or if it has been damaged or needed any major work (warranty or otherwise). Mazda does include a 7-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Warranty (dating back to the original in-service/sale date) but the Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty is only 1-year/12,000-miles or the balance of the factory 3-year/36,000-mile if greater. A lot of dealers won't negotiate a lot off their CPO Pricing either. At least none in the Atlanta area will. If it comes down to a difference of $2k between a CPO car (former rental) with 20k miles on it and a brand new one with NO miles and full warranty, you might want to weigh your options carefully....or if you qualify for that 0.0% APR for 60 months on a new 2012..... If you have any questions, I'll do my best to help....feel free to PM me!
