Amazon has a seagate 3tb for 129 but Im not sure if its the same:

These are enterprise class drives that are primarily designed for video surveillance recording. Seagate doesn't recommend these in NAS applications of greater than 4 drives. I looked at them for my Synology 411 but couldn't find the right price. These aren't the one's I'd look at for a desktop application though. |

Be careful people, this is not for home computer use as these drives are designed for high write rates, not reads.

Piece of Junk
I bought this on Amazon. One partition with data on it self-destructed in three hours and became unformatted. Computer had multiple blue screens.

Only good for a year of 24/7 on time. If you need something for reliable storage, best to go with WD Red for a few bucks more. |

dunno if it matters much, but both newegg and amazon drives are listed for use with synology's bays: http://www.synology.com/support/h...duct_id=90
As far as reliability... I cant say, but I used to buy only the cheapest desktop HDD's and after 2-8 years of use, they are all still working fine. |
