If it's got no highs and no lows, it's gotta be BOSE

Yeah, I'd love to see what's available too.

What's with these threads always getting voted down? I just want a good pair of noise cancelling earphones...

I love how everytime Bose gets mentioned someone can't wait to drop that idiotic line. It drives me crazy. Anyway, I don't know if they would do any Black Friday stuff; probably just holiday deals in general. Unless like an outside store like Best Buy happened to throw some on sale for BF.

Bose is not having any sales on the noise cancelling headphones for the holidays. Not sure about the standard audio headphones. The only way I have seen to get a deal on the QC15 and QC3 noise cancelling headphones is to go to a Bose factory outlet store. They have the factory renewed ones with a warranty. They actually have a Veterans day sale now. Go to Bose.com to find a store.

Take a speaker home. Put a mic in front of it, run a sweep and you'll quickly realized exactly what it is.

A piece of overprice trash.

No offense, just the truth.

Well I agree... but y a mic?? ears do a decent job too... and besides tht u will have to include the coloration of mic in tht equation...as for ears we can always claim to have trained and got golden ears

Both the eyes and ears are pretty poor measurement tools.

That's like saying, "This girl I saw was really hot, but when I ran the numbers it turns out I'm not attracted to her."

Bose is priced high, yes, but they're still good. You can't just blow it off as crap.

That's VERY POOR comparison. Two completely separate matters.

Can your eyes differentiate a 75% or 100% color saturation? Can your eyes see 10% blacks? 20% blacks? etc.

Can your ears hear soundwaves in the single digit frequency? Can it detect sounds above 15khz?

That's where measurement tools come in.

What kind of headphones are you looking for? Brands like Sennheiser, grado, Beyer or AKG are good.

I know what you mean, but I don't need to make any measurements to figure out if a violin sounds good or not. Plus that test just seems way too simple. Bose has a massive amount of engineers. It was founded by a professor at MIT. They're familiar with this. If you're an audiophile, I can see if you don't like it. But they're aware that they're not making speakers for audiophiles. They're not trying and failing at it. They make it for everyday people in everyday environments. People on here consistently make these black and white assessments about the company as a whole ("it's not only expensive, but everything they make sounds like shit, end of story") and I disagree with that line of thinking.
