Follow instructions here. [widescreengaming.net] For this version of the game, for the location "Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings\Profiles\Custom", replace the word "Custom" with your User name you choose in game. Note that the menu resolution may be unchanged, but when you start/join a game the resolution changes.

According to Dice employee on Reddit: They only guarantee that you'll be able to order the free copy until then, but it should be available forever.

A: Unfortunately, no. This Origin digital download version can only be played against other players who are using the same version. But since it’s free for everyone, everyone can download their own copy of the game. This version of the game will only show applicable (new) servers in the server browser.

Best game ever.. Wish they would make a new version of it and update the graphics.. I had a lot of fun playing that game.
It's not a deal unless you found it on slickdeals!

Now I feel old, the good old days of the DC mod before evil EA ruined DICE. I was still on dial-up at the time but my CSM clan ran off a fiber backbone, best in the west.
