Dang i been eye balling this laptop for months...i finally said screw it and went with a 1100$ desktop system, because the y580 was going to be a desktop replacement anyways. but at this price i would have gotten this. damnit.

Not sure if I should pull the trigger on this or wait. I need something that can run WoW, photoshop and stream well, But I want to stay under like $500. Anyone Think I will be able to find i7 for that?

I ordered a Y580 directly from Lenovo the other day for around $1050.00. My version has the i7-3630QM instead of 3610 and 500 gb 7200rpm HDD instead of the HDD/SDD hybrid. Everything else is exactly the same.
Question is, is the 3630 and 7200rpm better than a 3610, faster boots with SSD AND a delicious $200 down? |

not that I am implying that this GPU is good or anything, and I would never shell out $800 for this laptop, but the GPU should handle most games on high now, comparing it to a 4890, nah, I don't see it perform even close to as good, simply because it is a skimped down mobile GPU |

To me, the interesting thing about the Y580 is the very long battery life (measured at 4:30 browsing the Internet on NotebookCheck [notebookcheck.net]). The worst downside is how hot the laptop gets under load. But overall, an amazing price for a gaming laptop with all the perks. I would buy this but I'm poor.
