This is a fantastic price for SafeRacks. I paid $600 for two of them a couple years ago. I'm going to buy a couple more at this price! They are extremely sturdy and hold a ton of stuff so it's not sitting on my garage floor taking up room. I've got no issues with cracks in the ceiling. Only took about 45 minutes each to install them.

I did the same. I think a lot of people are afraid of a saw and cordless screw driver.

Costco items purchased on costco.com are returnable to costco BM stores right?

I did the same but it cost me closer to $57 per rack (still considerably cheaper). I modified the FH.com version for added strength and incorporated fishing rod holders into the 2x4 support braces used to keep the plywood from sagging.

Says *Note : SafeRacks cannot be installed into metal-framed homes or concrete ceilings.

Aren't most garage ceilings made out of concrete? I have a concrete ceiling---anything I can do to use this?

This just confirms the killer deal I got a few months back at Lowes on the 4x8 Kobalt ones that they had a clearance for $49.98 each. I just put them up and love them! Definitely recommend these racks where storage is an issue. Make sure you have enough room on your ceiling that your garage door opener or a doorway won't get in the way.

my garage walls are concrete but have studs in ceiling. would this still work?

I just checked Lowes and my local store has the Kobalt one for $129, so that is still cheaper than this (even though it is more than the $50 you paid). The only complaints I have seen on the Kobalt one are the cheap lag screws which is easily fixable since lag screws are inexpensive.

I may pick up the Kobalt one with the 10% off movers coupon and 5% lowes card.

I live in a 2-story town-house. The top of the first story is concrete.

Haha, nope, I think you are gonna be in the minority here. It must be ridiculously expensive to have a concrete ceiling since gravity kinda works against you so you would need some pretty good forms to do a ceiling. Unless your first floor is concrete and doubles as the ceiling of the garage.
