Can't one use a cell phone to call 911? I expect people without a cell phone are few and far between.

Cell phone 911 is not as good as landline 911. When you dial 911 from a landline, your address is usually populated on the responder's display. This is useful if you are unable to relay your address for whatever reason.

I have the 100 and the 110. I also have Ooma. I have three cordless phones with one base station connected to the Ooma hub. I found out from the thread above that I can connect the Ooma to the 110 and then run a line into the phone wall tap to use additional phones. Then my GV number will ring my Ooma number (which is my "land line"). It works but I am getting some line noise/hum. You can not do this without the extra port on the 110.

Will this work with allvoi? Or if someone is using it with allvoi.

I have the OBI 100 and I love it.. Works flawlessly and is free! I mainly use it so I can use a regular phone at home while on conference calls for work etc.

I've heard good things about this product and my sister in law could really use one...however google voice only promises to be free though the end of 2012...if they start charging are there other free options, or doesn't this limit the usefulness of obi?

Don't put words in people's mouths. Google copied Apple where it hits your pocket book and decided to charge $100 for 16gb worth of storage space on the Nexus 10. The big grabber for Android has always been the ability to add storage space to it's devices via mSD. Google changed that game, and is now charging for cheap local mSD storage (sure, buy a dongle - that looks really cool). Which is why many won't choose to purchase a Nexus tablet. What Google (as well as Android) can't get around Apple is demand for their devices at full retail. The Nexus 16gb has already dropped $50 in little time. I'm sure it will go even lower in the next few months. It doesn't pay to be an early adopter with Android - and even more so with Nexus tablets.

The iPad 3 refurb that sold out last week was the better tablet for the money compared to the upcoming Nexus 10. So one can get the best tablets at reasonable prices if they can time it right.

subjective. I would not, most likely, go back to any apple device because if their heavily restricted eco-system. Itunes sync is a heaping pile of restrictive shit
