Mitsubishi 82" 3D DLP HDTV 1080p 120Hz $1,399. or less w/FS & No s/t for most states @ Paul's TV

The first time i turned it on this TV, which was perfect because it was dead silent and making absolutely no noise. Starting the very next day i noticed a humming sound coming from the fan(s) being on all the time. I checked behind the TV to ensure nothing was blocking the air vent and, even when i turn it on for the time during the day, the fan is always on now. Has anyone else noticed if their fan is always on? This sound is really annoying, is there a way to prevent it?

Exactly what i was looking for! thank you! I can see that there is no way to see what's the internal temperature but there are codes (red/yellow) that should come up if the TV is overheating. Really wonder why mine has the fans on all the time...

Would have been nice to get rid of the blue Mitsubishi screen you get when shutting down...

Weird, I get a blue screen with the Mistubishi logo and a 1800 # every single time i turn it off...

I think depending on the input you're on, it'll show different color background (i.e. blue, black). However, I think the logo is always displayed when the set is turned off.

Would be nice if there was an option to get rid of the logo. Or better yet, replace it with one of our choosing.

yes, that's also why i was looking into the service code (see post above) but didn't find a way to do that.

Even though I got some good 3D IR glasses and I have everything setup and working, I don't see much in the way of 3D, and the ever-present darkening of the glasses doesn't help. Even Avatar in 3D doesn't do a lot. Is it just me?

If you are using the Xpand brand,that you select the "one blink" mode after you turn on the glasses and make sure you turn on the proper type of 3D from the the Menu > 3D selector otherwise you won't see much 3D at all. Tested those glasses on side by side 3D movie and result was quite impressive.
