He didn't bother with any of that. Instead, he brain-deadly gave up and actually helped the guy carry it again.

Crazy, man.

Not in my world.
"brain dead"?

Read my previous post and my original post. We attempted to figure out what the problem was for about 45 minutes and even called Mitsubishi support. After the red light came on two times that was it.

I also wasn't about to let the delivery guy attempt to pull that massive TV off the shelf and out my door alone. He would have destroyed something in the process.

So I don't know what you would have done in "your world" in the same situation.

Easy...no way I would have ever accepted having to heave the thing up, let alone down a set of stairs. Let them get some help-it's their job; my back isn't worth crapping out for a tv I was paying for.

Two guys brought mine, and they put it on my stand. If it had only been 1 guy, he'd would have had to call for a helper.

I'm not sure if this is the case for you but did you plug the cat5 to the TV before turning it off? The reason i'm asking is because the firmware upgrade might have started automatically and that could be why you couldn't turn it back on since this update takes more than 30 minutes. Again, not sure if it has anything to do with your case but another thing you might want to try is to do the manual firmware update available from here [mitsubishi-tv.com].

I spoke to them about this. They told me that they keep a few extras in stock for the purpose of exchanges. So a new one is still supposed to be brand new.

I went ahead and told them to send me another. Although with the holiday and shipping, it will probably be 2 weeks before it gets here.

Has anyone been able to find the "service menu code" for this TV? Found the one for the WD-57731 [ehow.com] but not for this one yet...

Totally agree, I wouldn't accept a white glove delivery with one man carrying 150 lb TV and looking at me to volunteer being his helper, Maybe that's why the TV stopped working !

I had 2 men delivering mine, and if I saw one man then I will ask him to come back and deliver when he has a helper...

Does anyone knows the 'special code' combination to be entered through the remote that gives you access to more advanced setting like removing shutdown screen, etc...

Quick question, did you get the $100 restaurants.com certificate inside the TV box? I can't seem to find it.

I bought mine 11/2/12 which was before the OP's post, I think they stopped offering it, since it is not mentioned here.

Same thing with the 73 TV http://slickdeals.net/f/5407250-Mitsubishi-C-Series-WD-73C12-73-1080p-DLP-HDTV-100-Restaurant-GC-899-99-at-Paul-s-TV?v=1

The $100 certificate is showing in my receipt, but can't find it, I will send them an email...
