I called in today to cancel my red card which I have had since 2003 with a 6600 limit. Person on the line asked me why given history, stellar payment etc.

I told them that thousands of us were so very insulted with the offers they gave in advanced to card holders.

He put me on hold and came back and asked if there was any item at all that I was even interested in. I mentioned the Westinghouse tv. Two minutes later.... I have an order in my email for that tv for FREE.

Needless to say I kept the card !!!!!!!!! Was blown away. Guess they think they can get me for interest but I pay my card off in full.

Mooo ha ha ha ha

Too bad the deals weren't a little better though this one post doubled my reputation points I still have no idea what the points mean though.

Can I ask what your credit score is? I've been a long time member w/ 5.5k limit. I ordered 2 westinghouse TV's today, Orders verification botched up my order & cancelled it. Had to re-order after the price was hiked up this afternoon. I spent 4+ hours today w/ Customer Service and had 2 different supervisors promise me a price adjustment but then failed to do so because it was no longer available online (even though I had already re-ordered it).

Needless to say, I'm also considering cancelling, but I can't see them fighting to keep me.

We also spend about 4k a year at Target which may have something to do with it?

I used to carry a large balance with them (paid off earlier this year), so they definitely have made $$ off me. As much as I'd hate to lose one of my older cards, I'm tempted after today...

I hope someone can confirm one way or another that these would infact be the same deals that everyone else would receive on the Actual black friday. If i could walk in there (or even online) and purchase things early I will certainly go sign up for one. but my suspect is that these are "special" deals that aren't the same as BF. Perhaps they are comparable, perhaps better or worse. But i just don't imagine them being the same.
