How often do you actually use 3D on your set. I have no children and dont play games. Just wondering if it is worth the extra expense.

maybe 5% of the time I watch 3D...it is interesting and movies like Avatar are really good

But the other things you have to consider

any "better" TV these days has 3D

so you practically have to buy a 3D to get a "better " 2D picture

Short answer is hardly at all.

Have the LG7600. It has free 3D content as part of the smart TV but they are boring to me so never watch. Tried the 2D to 3D conversion but not really impressed enough to make me press a button and put on the glasses. I like the idea of 3D though and forced myself to look for good deals on 3D movies. So far got the Caroline, Titanic, and Avengers. Waiting on the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and two other 3D movies to come. Everyone is different though.

It's very subjective but if you like the idea of 3d, you'll probably enjoy it on your home tv. I have a passive 3d set and prefer to watch movies in 3d when given the choice (its neat!). (I probably wouldn't watch any on an active 3d set). But to answer your question, about 5% of the time.

How is the anti-glare on this compared to the new ST panny's?

I went there yesterday and all their tv's were on sale but whenever you tried to order one they had not a single one in stock. just the crappy lg 55g2. (talking about houston tx store). Just called them today and yes they have that lg 60pm9700 on sale for 1099 but guess what? not in stock. It's really cool to have the lowest prices on all the tv's when in fact you dont have anything to sell.

interesting...as I actually prefer active 3D

Its looks "sharper" to me

or maybe its the TV's that use active have better picture quality...ie...Samsung...Panasonic

it appeared to be ok at the Lg I was looking at in the store today

I have had a Samsung 3D since 2009 I use the 3D occasionally on my PS3 games and rarely on movies. The wife says it hurts her head. I do use it when she's not around for ESPN occasionally.

Overall I would say it is worth it for random usage.

what model Samsung 3D TV do you have from 2009?

I didnt think they started they started 3D until 2010...with the C series TV's...I have a 58C8000
