How do you manage to stick 6 UPC's in that space? And just to confirm, it is ok to send copies of UPC for this rebate, right?

I just tape them in rows of two's below the third line, where the UPC section is.

1 goes in the UPC box. The others go beneath and to the side of the box.

UPC copies are acceptable on this Offer #, according to the rebate terms.

Yeah, I know that's the true reason behind it. It just seems like such a tremendous waste of paper and postage for purchases that are easily verifiable.

It is a tremendous waste of paper and postage (not to mention time), but it's our wasted paper, postage, and time (and they apparently believe that whatever time they invest to handle the rebate is cheaper than automatically refunding everybody $11 apiece just for buying the stuff).

They do this for the same reason that supermarkets, etc., have their cash registers programmed to charge the full price on items that are advertised as "on sale" unless you hand them your special supermarket card to scan. It catches some people off guard and garners the store more money.

Yeah, I understand the rationale behind it. The retailer (TigerDirect) hopes people don't fill out the rebate and they end up profiting. I just think it's stupid and is a huge waste of resources all around. The majority of the time, I end up calling the phone # on the back of the card to request a check... so the plastic ends up useless and more postage and paper is wasted. Rebates should give you an option of a check or prepaid card.... not force one on you like they do now. I wouldn't doubt these rebate companies are in bed with the banks... and they get some sort of discount on the face value of the prepaid card.

After all, the banks stand to profit from the inactivity fees most of these prepaid cards start charging after 6 months.
