Lets talk 2016 and the Road to the White House Look at the electorate numbers White fell below 73% of the electorate. Its in steady decline https://prospect.org/state-vote I am gonna call 2016 already for Hillary. - Blacks, well she is Clinton's wife so they will vote for her - Whites fall below 72% of the electorate again like in 2012 its a done deal - Hispanics well its not like they will vote Republican. - Women done deal. Hillary will take the vast majority (yes because shes a woman) get ready for the Pundits now. take a vaccine. Unless Chris Christie, has a sex change losses 180lbs and turns african american the GOP already lost the White House in 2016 . Have a nice 8 years guys as irrelevant. |

hillary clinton, martin o'malley, and julian castro will be in the mix in '16. maybe warren, but i think she'll settle in as a senate lifer. maybe beau biden, but i think he may be better suited for getting plugged into the supreme court.
Rumble, young man, rumble. These are interesting times we live in. Punctuation is key. Fruit is nature's candy.

Neocons are the problem. If Republicans want to win, they have to get rid of the neocons. Rand Paul will win in 2016. Joe Biden says Buy a Shotgun! Wackiness ensues! [youtu.be]

I think Republicans will have to elect a hispanic in the primary of 2016 to have a chance. For a MODERATE republican who understands ECONOMICS not able to beat a president who was basically Carter2.0 (Iran, high gas prices, high unemployment, devaluation of the dollar, etc.), I don't see a Republican winning the White House unless the next 4 years are DRASTICALLY worse than now. If things remain as is, Americans will be conditioned to except the new American standard much like Europe has accepted high gas prices and constant 10% unemployment.
Add the new entitlements Obama will create and Republican have no chance in the forseeable future. Heck, one only has to look at the financial dysfunction in California to see how one stay continues to elect high tax, high spending liberals over and over and over! Rubio may be the clear choice for 2016 but the issue remains whether hispanics in the U.S. will relate to a Cuban rather than someone from South or Central American lineage. The good news is that all the youth who voted for Obama this year will move into the conservative ranks when in the next few years, they will have to shell out $1000+ for health insurance or pay a fine and risk imprisonment. Add to the devaluation of the dollar and rising prices with their inability to get jobs out of college, if the Democrats can't hook them on entitlements early, they will not be voting for the party that is about to cause them a lot of fiscal and career discomfort. nil carborundum illegitimi

Very true, living in Miami Rubio IS the Republicans Obama. He is central neutral on immigration. I have personal connections to Rubio having met him several times even volunteered for him. As a Democrat my Districts pertain to head of the DNC Debbie Wasserman-Shultz, and Illeana Ros Leithan very strong Cuban American. I can't say bad thing about Rubio. My predictions are, the next 4 years like the previous 4 Obama campaigned 4 years against Romney not many people realize that. Now the DNC will campaign 4 years against Rubio and do everything to make him look bad. On his voting record. (Why Rubio not Christie, well No matter what Christie won't turn NJ Red so its a loss Rubio will turn FL Red) end of story Electoral votes. Why? Obama won OHIO razor thin, 2 more visits by Romney to OHIO and 20 million dollars more in the right counties may have swung OHIO. So its in play Rubio runs in 2016 he takes Florida hands down he will even get my vote for reasons I won't post here. Period. And probably OHIO He takes + A good part of the youth vote + Splits White males + Will not lose women as badly as Romney did + Hispanics will be an even bigger voting block in 4 years and he will take 80% of them + Blacks again heavily democratic but he will get more than Romney What Rubio needs to do is spend the next 4 years helping the poor to distance himself from Romney's 47% comments. And building himself in Miami's poor latino and black areas. 2016 I am calling it now Rubio vs. Clinton If you thought 2008 was historic Get some popcorn. on VP choices look to Hillary to pick someone from OHIO native son to secure OHIO and Look to Rubio to take a VP choice from Virginia to try take Virginia. Both for Electoral votes. If its Rubio vs Biden, Its Rubio in a land slide. Last edited by HEATBaller; 11-08-2012 at 07:37 AM.. |

The Republican Party is a mess and there will be no easy fix for them . Keep the far right base happy, you scare away the emerging demographics. Play to the emerging demographics and you upset the far right base who won't vote or will go for a third party/ tea party like candidate. And Rubio isn't going to fix this issue which is decades in the making.
I'm losing money if I don't buy it.
