will the republican party disband? will the republican party disband? will it move to the center? will it embrace libertarian social views? will it make one last attempt at the angry white male vote? will they negotiate a secession of the south? will they use the fact that they still have around 58 million strong in their base and that they retain the house as validation for staying the course? will the karl rove establishment be ousted? Rumble, young man, rumble. These are interesting times we live in. Punctuation is key. Fruit is nature's candy.

The problem with Republicans is that they have become so convinced that their righteousness will carry them through in a national election when they have a lesser base of electoral votes. In looking at the numbers, Obama was twice as close to winning the electoral college as Romney.
The Republicans are doing nothing to address their deficit of base electoral votes and instead rely on a last minute strategy of swing states. They basically did a last minute cramming session instead of prepping early for the exam. And then they wonder why they failed the exam. Last edited by Lilian; 11-07-2012 at 09:25 AM.. |

Looking at the past 4 years, knowing what baggage Obama carried, an (R) win was very possible if the (R) had only put up someone that was more differentiated from Barry. But, as I say - the populace is idiotic and wants a candidate to tell them what they want to hear regardless of reality. |

This corresponds with the outcomes of other races, where many of the extreme tea partiers lost their seats - potentially even costing the Republicans the Senate. |
