was there a card for the one month gold membership?
I did not see one in my box.

Anyone know how to maximize the free trials available on a new console?

I got the 1 month XBL/HULU/EPIX card. Then there's a 1 month for $1 promo on the dashboard.

I read you can get up to (3) 1 month free trials when creating XBL accounts via the console. I read that after I made and AMEX sync'd an account via the website. So I guess I'll have to recreate an account some other time via the console to get that.

Supposedly you can get a free month trial via the console when you try to use an gold-only app. But instead of it asking me to upgrade to gold (and then offering a free trial when you say "no thanks"), my console just lets me download the app. Then when I run the app it says I need to upgrade to gold, but I don't get the free month trial offer.

After finding all that out, I did go through with the $1 for 1 month trial that was on the dashboard. Afterwards, it added a "welcome to XBL" panel which leads a bunch of advertisements and a 1 month trial offer. I haven't tried adding it yet to see if it'll stack with the $1 for 1 month offer (giving me 2 months for $1).

Which bundle did you order?

Only the pre-packaged holiday bundles include the membership (noted on the front of the box).

The Forza/Halo CE store bundle does not.

I got the Forza/Halo bundle. It mentioned on the box about the 1 month free xbox live.
I'm starting to wonder if it was for new accounts only.

No, I think you're confused. The one month bonus is only included with the holiday bundles, where the console and the games come in one package, with the "sticker" on the lower left corner.

The Halo store bundle [microsoftstore.com] makes no mention of it whatsoever, on the packaging or the item page.

The console I received is just a regular 250GB unit, and each of the three games I ordered is being shipped separately.

Now, there have been mentions from people who ordered the holiday bundle who have found that they actually got an extra month (two total), but I don't know if that's just how the credit appears after the code is redeemed, or whether there was some additional card thrown in.

Not sure if anyone is looking for the halo edition xbox but I just returned one to the galleria mall best buy buffalo, ny (never opened it)

Xbox 360 250GB w/Kinect, Kinect Sports/Adventures/Dance Central 2 as the three included games ... for $290 after in-store GC factored in (grocery store, so like cash to me)... good deal?

Or actually,
Xbox 360 250GB w/ Forza and Skyrim for $200, then kinect plus adventures game for $70 for a total of $270...even better deal? TIA for the advice!

It looks like BB is offering 250gb bundle for $99 with $15/month subscription. Basically better console for the same deal that was going on with TRU. Is anyone going to try to price match this or are other stores probably aware and not worth trying this time?

You could try but i'm pretty sure most stores are aware of it now.
