I'm looking for a sound bar that has HDMI pass through. So far the sony one is the only one that looks good.

I could really do with a quick basic primer on sound bars. I got the 43 inch Samsung Plasma last year. Its got decent sound but I could sure do with better sound quality and bass effects.
Can you guys please suggest something good from the deals this BF. Would like to keep it around $100 and below. Thanks. BTW hows the SONY sound bar from Frys and Do I get a sound bar or is a home theater set(with multiple speakers) better? Thanks. |

The sony sound bars reviews (ct550) were really mixed. The big selling point was the amount of input that go into the system. People have commented that the sound isnt great. There is another sony (c150?) that got really good reviews but all the input go into the sub which is SUPER inconvenient. And during this whole thing the vizio has been there getting good reviews. I was looking at amazon reviews vs the ct550 reviews (only recent ones) and the vizio had a consistent 3-4 stars where as the sony was getting bad marks very often. They werent saying anything bad per se, but they all said the sound was generic. I think im going to pull the trigger on the vizio if i can find a good deal during BF, if not hopefully after
@calvin- Sound bar will never compete with a full home theater surround sound. Soundbars are basically known as upgrading your TV speakers. Dont expect more, dont get me wrong, given the size of your room it could work. My bedroom is small, so a soundbar works best for the space Last edited by ProfGreenMau5; 11-21-2012 at 12:43 PM.. |
