Ah... I think the 3s and 4s make it easier to understand then the overly complex asinine names Apple came up with.

The 4G iPad (fourth generation which is technically correct for the nitpickers out there ) is superior to the 3G iPad in processing speed and Wifi speeds. I notice a pretty significant difference between my iPhone 5 and 3G iPad. That said, the 3G iPad is a great device and this price, if it works out that way, is really very good. I've also heard that they upped the resolution on the front camera in the newest one, but never researched whether that was true.

Again, let me point out, the 3G iPad is a great device and for $150-200 less than the newest model, is a bargain. I spent full price on mine and don't regret it one bit because of how much use it gets.

Maybe slickdeals has made me stubborn, but I will literally never buy anything from a website that charges me tax unless the deal is so good to the point where they are giving it away.

What is the current retail price difference between the iPad 3 and the iPad4? I know the main differences are the processor and the dock connector. I'm just going to give it as a gift to my dad as I already got him the iPhone 4S last year it would make more sense to get him the iPad 3. He's not a power user and a different connector will just annoy him.

BTW, if you apply for the credit card online do you get approved immediately so you can use the 15% discount right away? And does the 10% double dipping work still?

This would be a great deal if you can do that and also get 7% CB from B|gcrumbs + 5% Discover internet purchases.

I'm all for official designations, but surely you see the average person's need to simplify it, esp on boards, where not everyone is on top of such things.

OK - here's how it works from personal experience:

Discounts:

15% for opening Meijer CC.
10% for using it first time on Fri or Sat
10% coupon additional

Total - 35% (in store only)
(sometimes an additional 5% in certain categories like groceries)

If you apply online, do it at least 10-15 days prior to sale. It takes them that long to approve you and issue a card. A store will not complete the purchase without the card. They cannot pull up your info.

If you apply in store, you can use it same day. The downside is that you may get a low credit line, but you can split the purchase between the Meijer card and any other card (can be only $5 on the Meijer card) and still get the entire discount for your purchases.

It's a great deal if you are willing to take on another CC and do it right.

On another note, it does not appear though that Meijer has the newest I-Pad or the Mini. Am I right?

Say, if you have a 3610QM processor on your laptop, vs one with a 3820QM, the extra performance is hard to notice unless you're pushing the CPU to its limits (and even then you can only see the difference in benchmark numbers).

The difference is actually pretty noticeable, but it depends on how you use a device. For me, I go from app to app to app frequently, but if you're the type to just sit in one app, it isn't a big deal. The A6 is literally twice as fast in most ways. For $150-ish difference, probably not worth it to most.

The connector is different but also better because it's MUCH more durable. The 30 pin is a pretty weak connector. In the future, all iDevices will use them..if you're invested with old iDevice accessories then it makes sense to stick with 30 pin in some ways.

Sorry, not at all trying to hate on the 3G iPad, it's great. I just want to make known that the new one is indeed noticeably better in a few (very few) ways. Slight differences in laptop processors and the difference between A5/A6 are not all that comparable.
